This rack worked great as a cost effective measure to carry a 3rd bike on my roof. One of the other riders had an old Thule roof rack that would not fit the factory racks of his new car nor mine. He's planning on getting these adapters also. Now that I have them, I plan to get a newer model roof rack. This is better than having to totally replace my factory racks in addtion to the cost of the roof rack. I normally do not need access to carry a third bike.

My only wish is that Thule would make all their items universal to factory racks.

Bottom line: This is a great purchase if you already have a Thule product that does not fit factory racks.

Simple, cost effective bike carrier!

Rating:*****
I just bought a mini-van to replace my gas guzzling full size truck...rather than carry my bike inside the vehicle, I wanted a cost effective means to install a roof rack. The Thule ride-on adapter was the only roof rack system which easily attached to my van's installed roof rack system and was compatible with many Yakima and Thule bike carrier attachments. For [$]it's tough to find a reliable/stable roof rack system. The only disadvantage is that is effective width is only 32" which is more than enough to accommodate two bike carriers.

Great Value!

Rating:*****
This is great if you just want a cheap and simple add-on to your factory rack. It's only as stable as your factory cross bars and the bars themselves aren't long enough to carry a cargo box along with your bike or other item. But compared to the more expensive options, if you're just looking for a simple way to haul a bike or two- this is definitely an effective product.

Get what you pay for.

Save the money and buy the complete system for your vehicle. Not the typical THULE product quality. I am scared to use it with MY bikes. I have 4 THULE rack systems on 4 vehicles. I can't get much information from THULE on load ratings for this product.
