It works, but it'll cost you

Let me tell you how the normal pin works, and how this works. The normal "pin" is just a bolt on one side with a lock washer and washer on it. You insert the bike rack in your hitch, and then tighten the bolt into the Passenger side nut of the rack. So your hitch is attached on one side with this bolt going through the pinhole on your hitch and screwed into the nut of the rack inserted in the hitch.

STL2 - Works as advertised
| Rating: | ![]() |
Nothing fancy.....bolt it on, prevents horizontal sway and locks to keep the hitch from easily being removed. The pin though is longer than needed and sticks out the other end a little too much. A second spare key would have been nice. A little over priced for what it is but you are paying for the name and the quality.

Keep Your Thule Rack Secure
| Rating: | ![]() |
| If you have or are getting a hitch mounted Thule Rack, don't forget this Snug-Tight lock to keep your rack from being stolen when you're away from your vehicle or riding the trails. Would prefer Thule include it with the rack, but se la vi. Otherwise very satisfied with Thule's products. Happy Trails. | |

Need to protect your investment

| The perfect item to protect your investment. I have used it already at least 15 times and it works great. It's the exact same thing than the normal bolt that comes with the rack but with the lock at the end. [...] Great item + great price [...]= a perfect deal. Thank you | |

| The bar where the locking mechanism is seems a bit thin, and i'm not sure how strong the locking mechanism is, however I'm trusting that this device is not easily broken by a potential thief. Thule from my experience usually makes good products. | |

gives great peace of mind!

| Always purchase Thule products when peace of mind is needed- not only when transporting the bikes- but also to be assured the rack will still be there when I return from a bike ride. | |

The lock helps prevent problems with the bolt coming lose and also gives peace of mind against theft of the carrier.

You don't get what you paid for
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I won't buy this thing. Very cheaply made for what you have to pay. I can buy much heavier-duty hitch pin-locks for $20. Unfortunately I can't use them with the Thule rack since they engineer it so you have to buy their lock. My hitch has two large loops near the receiver itself so I just use one long cable lock to both secure the bikes to the rack and the rack to the hitch. | |

What is called perfect nowadays
| Rating: | ![]() |
| It is easy to install, but then, you would expect (especially when it has "snug" in its' name) it be fixed and snug instead of freely rotating at the end of the bolt. Looks quite flimsy. | |

SNUG BUT NOT SECURE | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This lock does a good job of holding my Thule cargo box in the hitch. Using threads to screw the lock makes a snug fit and does not allow any shifting between the cargo box and truck which can get annoying when driving. The poor design of the lock is how easy it can be hit off the vehicle. The screw is too long leaving the locking device away from the hitch. If someone wanted to hit the lock off, it would not take too much effort and looks like one swing of a hammer could break the device. For the price it should be more secure. | |

Good lock - steep price | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| If you're going to have a $350+ rack, spend the extra money. The lock works fine but for [$] I'm not impressed. Comes with a small wrench to tighten and loosen. I'd be more impressed if there was some sort of integrated ratcheting arm. That would be a 5-star product. Still, it is nice to be able to carry one key for your roof rack, box, hitch lock, and bike mounts. | |
