Good Hat!

Rating:*****
We bought 4 of these for a long weekend trip outdoors. I followed a measuring guide found online and each person measured the circumference around the head about 1" above their ears. I ordered slightly larger than the actual head size to give just a tad bit of room. For example, both of the womens heads measured 22" & I ordered them size 7 1/8. The 23" head got a 7 3/8 size hat. They all fit great! The hats are washable & will last a very long time. They never got hot on our heads & I enjoyed wearing a hat instead of sunglasses for a change. (no raccoon eyes!)

Best Hat Ever!

Rating:*****
This is a great hat that can be worn anywhere. I don't often look good in hats but this one does look good on me and I love it. I've gotten great compliments. One note, it does run small. I normally wear a small (6 3/4) but had to get a size 7 in this one. Well worth it and you can't beat STP prices! Buy it you will be happy you did.

Great Hat

Rating:*****
This hat has a stiff brim so it does not flap all over when I am on the water paddling my kayak. It looks nice in the brush or about town and it has kept it's shape nicely. I keep money in the hidden compartment for emergencies. I have washed it in a mountain spring and under a faucet with soap and it is fine. Quick drying. Best hat I have ever owned.

Versatile, Well-Made Hat

Rating:*****
My husband has worn this hat for everything from boating to the arboretum. He remarks about the cool comfort of this lightweight hat and appreciates the anti-glare feature and wind cords. The wide brim keeps the sun at bay and the color is especially nice and goes with everything. He had me order a second hat to use exclusively for yardwork. The Tilley quality is remarkable and this style is actually chic!

not for hot weather

Rating:****
I bought the hat mostly for sun protection and it does that well. However, where there is sun there is heat and the hat just does not breathe well. I still like it, but miss my old Outdoor Research hat that i got from Sierra a dozen years ago and recently lost. The Tilley is a replacement hat and, in my opinion, does not measure up to the OR.

Everybody in my family has one now!

Rating:*****
It's great to have sun protection in a comfy hat. We aren't big (chemical) sunblock users, so these hats are a great solution. My husband has been seen even wearing his in the house, which really looks funny, chin strap and all, but I think he forgets he has it on. Be sure to take the time to measure for size, and they do stay on in the wind.

Tilley Hats RoCk

Rating:*****
Just look at all those 5-stars. The Tilley website says to pick the next size up, to give a looser fit, so those 4-star ratings are wrongly skewed. I love the fit, finish, lightness, the green under brim threw me off at first, but it is very cool and glare free. I think this hat will serve well in the fall and early winter as well.

Best hat I've ever owned!

Rating:****
After purchasing this hat at the discounted rate I believe that these hats are worth every dollar at full price. I didn't get my favorite color, but it served it's purpose well and will get plenty of use. I plan on purchasing another in the future and I'll get the color I want...even if I have to pay full price.

Almost perfect

Rating:****
Hat would be perfect if only Tilley had used mesh grommets rather than just leaving a wide open hole in the hat. I'm afraid it might be a welcome opening for mosquitoes. I haven't worn yet in mosquito infested area yet but will be prepared with spray and maybe some duct tape to cover holes!

Always buy a Tilley Hat

Rating:*****
I use my Tilley Hat as everyday wear. If it`s hot out or sunny, I grab this hat. I love it with gardening. And, I`ve met so many other nice people who are also wearing their Tilley hats. They strike up conversations with me, usually when we`re both waiting in line somewhere.

Wind blew it off

Rating:**
Hiking in Wyoming. Great sun coverage. Hat caused me to sweat alot, for a woman. Also, once I got the complicated chin/head strap adjusted it was hard to take the hat off to ventilate my head momentarily without losing the strap setting. Finally the Wyoming wind blew it off.

sweaty sun hat

Rating:***
This hat is long on words (lots of self-promoting) and very mediocre. Tilley is about hype! I wish I had purchased a much cheaper sun hat, one that is lighter and will not keep my head so sweaty. It's like a sauna under this hat! Even out of the sun, the interior band is so warm and cushiony that there is always sweat there. Quite unpleasant. My Borsalino sun hat doesn't do that too me (unfortunately, the brim on my Italian beauty is a bit small for maximum sun protection)
