I love this hat - BUT . . . |
| Rating: | |
| Sizing: If I measure my head I should wear 7 3/8, I have two Tilley's that are 7 1/2 and they feel tight with my now longer hair. This one I ordered as 7 5/8 and it is great, comfortable and big enough to allow a breeze on my head. Mesh and Mosquitoes: I just spent two weeks floating and camping on a river hundreds of miles north of the Arctic Circle in Alaska. Yes, there were mosquitoes! My head itched and I thought the mesh on my new hat was scratchy BUT no, it was the mosquitoes biting through my headnet AND the mesh in the hat to make my poor head bloody. Bugs cannot get through the nets BUT they CAN stick their little suckers through two layers of mesh and I had to put duct tape over the hat mesh to keep from going crazy. Other than that, I love this hat! I bought this hat to wear on camping and river trips in Alaska and to wear traveling, hiking, etc in the lower 48 and other parts of the world. I love that it is crushable and it really is! The brim stands up to a stiff head wind and that is important while running a swift river. |

Great hat |

| A few months ago, I overheard a conversation about how terrific Tilley hats were, so of course, I had to have one. When I saw the discount through Sierra Outpost, I jumped on it. The hat is packable & washable which are big plusses. Yesterday, I gave the hat a test run on a hike. It truly is a very comfortable hat and provides excellent shade. The straps are adjustable so the hat fits snugly under the chin and behind the head. There was no chasing the hat when a strong gust came up. However, it will get the supreme test when I take it to Death Valley later this year. My only negative comment is that the info that was included talks about a foam layer in the crown to keep the hat afloat if it should go in the drink. I cannot detect any foam. These hats are pricey, so watch Sierra Outpost for the next great sale and don't hesitate to order one. |

Cool wearing. |

| 1st Tilley hat purchased. Impressed with the quality of workmanship. Stitching is of high quality. Tilley hats are pricey, but probably in the long run worth the $$s. Have worn the hat daily while working in the vegetable and fruit garden. A few days of hiking in hilly terrain. Conditions have ranged from warm to cool, RHs moderate to dry, sunny to drizzle. Hat wears cool. On sunny warm days it was cooler wearing the hat than no hat. Headband dealt with any brow perspiration. Hat is drizzle proof. Light rain beads up. Backpackers, note the brim depth. Some packs may bump into the back brim. Bottom line: Hat functions as hoped for. Keep the sun off the head, shades the neck & face while not feeling hot. |

Excellent hat with one warning |

| I've been wearing the LTM7 for about 2 months now. I work outdoors and wear this hat daily. It is exceptionally comfortable and can be worn all day long. The ventilation panels work well. I sized my hats according to the Tilley website instructions. They felt a little big at first but now i think they're perfect. I bought two and rotate them weekly. I machine wash each hat after a week of use and they are holding up just fine. One warning: if you are wearing this hat on a riding lawn mower use your chin strap. An unexpected wind can blow your hat onto the engines exhaust melting the hats nylon. |

First Rate Quality Sun Protection |

| This is a Tilley so you know the quality is built in. This really is a great product for guarding yourself from the effects of the sun. The AirFlo feature is nice...the option for using the chin string is there for boating or days with high wind. This baby is getting a lot of use. I like the fact that this is made by our neighbors to the North in Canada. Buy this now if you are serious about your health and comfort. |

A good deal! |

| I got this hat to take on a trip but have used it while walking around the field and while working in the yard and it has been great! Shields the sun, repels rain (just light, haven't had it in a real rainstorm yet), stays on in the wind, and kept the deer flies off me! I was pleased! I like the idea that it can be packed. And it has a great guarantee! |

Fabulous Hat |

| This is a great hat. I have worn it hiking in the mountains and bird watching in the desert. Fits great, air vents keep me cool, looks nice. Not too big, not too small, just right. Folds flat for packing and doesn't get messed up. Now I get what all the hype is about Tilley hats, and I feel lucky I got mine at such a great price at Sierra Trading! |

I love the Tilley Hat!!! |

| I am a long time Tilley fan. The hats are incredibly well constructed and have many details such as a green under brim lining that cuts glare, the mesh up in the head for air circulation, and strings for the front and back of your head for extra windy situations. These hats are a real bargain here. I have seen them elsewhere for [$]. |

| Do not know why Tilley discontinued this model. People ask me all the time where they can get it. It is the most feminine of all the hats. The others are flat on top and look more masculine to me. Love the dome look. This hat goes everywhere with me. I wear it with all outfits to protect me from the sun. |

| Needed a good sun protecting hat and this was it. Great hat, well fit, very well made and durable. Meets all my needs and the price was a steal on STP. I can't say enough good things about it. Got one for me and one for my husband and he actually wears his, too. Not just his ball cap all the time. |
