Best I've had

Rating:*****
Of the 4 or 5 different racks I've had over the years this is the best yet. I have two installed in my garage and never had a problem. Easy to position and move if necessary. Both have been in place for two years with no issues, unlike the other racks that I've purchased. It is expensive but if you need easy access and don't want to hang your bikes this is the one to get. I have never had to locate a stud in the ceiling of my garage for the top as other have mentioned. A general problem with all these styles is that if you have brakes cables on your top tubes the hangars tend to stretch them a bit as the bikes rests on these cables..

Very satisfied - I own two of these

Rating:****
This is an excellent solution for storing bikes in an apartment without having to drill into your ceiling. I bought one about two years ago and was satisfied with it, so about a year later I bought a second for two more bikes. You can install this very close to the wall so it takes up only a small about of floor space. It is easy to get the bikes on and off. I think some people might find it challenging to get the pole installed correctly, although it did not take me that long. If you do it right, it's very stable -- no problems in over two years. (I do worry how it would hold up in an earthquake though!)

Great Product

Rating:*****
Well designed, well built product. If you set it up right and read the instructions it will not fall over. I have two bikes on it, in an NYC studio apartment. Make sure you have solid surfaces top and bottom, make sure you tighten the quick release to the tension recommended (a lot tighter then a bike quick release) and make sure it takes a good bit of strength to lock into place. Once it is in place, it has well built parts and does what it claims to do.

I can pull on mine with almost all my body weight, and it won't move. Install it correctly and it will not fall.

Nice product. Ordering my second one..

Rating:****
This is a great product. I have this set up in my dining room. I admit, I was a bit sketchy on using this to hold my Cervelo and the Wifey's Spec bike, But I quickly tested it out with both of our mtn bikes and gave it a good shake and all was good. This even stayed put during a few of SoCal's wonderful earthquakes. The only bad thing about this is it's a bit pricey. It's best to buy this with at least a[$] coupon plus a nice dividend.So...on that note, I'm ordering a second one for the mtn bikes.

18 months and still working great.

Rating:****
Moved into a small apartment and space is definitely limited. I replaced an old two bike rack because this one takes up very little floor space. I've hung 30+ mountain bikes, road bike and commuter bikes on this thing without any problems. No issues with falling over...18 months and counting. I'm waiting for another 20% off sale to buy another...my only gripe, it's a bit expensive.

sturdier than it looks!

Rating:*****
In our household of adult and teen cyclists and limited space, this stand gets daily use and has proved very sturdy, far exceeding our expectations.

Negative Reviews:

Stand did not stand the test of time

Rating:**
Bought this bike stand in May of 2006. In the first 15 months of ownership, this stand broke loose 4 times from its tension design. Twice it happened on its own. Good thing the bikes fell away from the vehicles in the garage. The other 2 times, it was accidentally nudged ever so slightly and down came the 2 bikes. [...] We attribute the weak design to be weather related. With the contraction and expansion of the garage ceiling/roof joist, the tension within the pole that was set in the beginnning was not the same throughout the year. Since the last time it fell on its own, it has been sitting idle for the last 12 months. Making an effort to return this today [...]

Fell on my Car

Rating:**
This could have been a great product if it worked. It has now fallen in my garage twice without warning, throwing bikes onto my car and I will no longer mount bikes on this. To be fair, I was not able to position the pole such that the ceiling end would be hitting drywall where a stud was. This might have helped but I can't be sure. I'm not sure what has caused it to fall. After the first fall I resecured it and it held for a couple months until one day it fell again, on the car causing a rather large dent and paint chips.

Would have been great if they could add a safety too make sure it doesn't fall...

Be Careful With This

Rating:*
This rack may slip unexpectedly. Don't use it for anything you value or put it near a car. Be especially careful if you put it in a garage on a bare floor as it may drop your bikes. This one caused me $1000 worth of damage to my car.

Was Great Until It Failed
