great alcohol stove

I bought this stove system to use for car camping with my wife and for the high quality anodized aluminum pots and frying pans. As far as alcohol stoves go this is a great system. The burner cooks fast for an alcohol stove because of the windscreen, you can simmer somewhat, and you can put the stove out and save unused fuel, unlike most alcohol stoves. The pots and pans are high quality and part of the value of this set is the pots. The stove and pot stand are stormproof and you could boil water in rain or high winds. Certainly this is about the most robust and effective alcohol stove one can buy. The one problem is that the set is heavy for an alcohol stove and rather bulky. If you are backpacking, just boiling water for one, and trying to keep your pack weight down, there is a better alcohol system out there (the cone). However, no other alcohol stove has the flexibility of this setup, to boil, simmer, fry etc . . .
I highly recommend for car campers, couples, and people who aren't concerned about weight or bulkiness.

Great camping set

This is a great cooking set for 3-4 people. It's a little excessive for 1-2 light campers, but you don't have to pack the complete set.

The pans and kettle are very well constructed; the pans especially seem like they will last a very long time.

My only complaint is that the walls of the stove unit are slightly thin; a sideways impact could dent the stove without a large amount of force. This is likely a compromise between weight and rigidity.

simple, tough

great set for 3 men, or 4 mixed persons.
tough, pretty much non stick, simple design.
The only con is that it is a very slow cooker, but most of the time, thats fine. Im not an adventure racer, not many people are.

Also, the trangia sets are great not for the stove itself, but as great cheap pots. Other brand name pots of similar sizes cost much more. I buy trangia stuff bcos of the pots, not the stove.

The stove is great!

This is my first alcohol stove. I love it! I cooked stir fry chicken, boil water, and noodles in one fill. I can't wait to use it for my future backpacking/camping adventures. This well be great for my fishing trip this spring and summer. The stove and hard iodized pots and pan cool off pretty quick for packing up and go.

Love It, Great Product

I purchased primarily as a stove to use while camping although could be used for backpacking. Love the compactness and functionality of the system. It is built well, cooks well and cleans up easily. I expect to have this for a long time.

To use it is to love it.

I tested it on a backyard campout with the family, and it performed admirably.
