best light for canoe camping

These are the best items I have for canoe camping. I have 2 that I have used for years. They are tough, priced good and will take a beating. The candles are reasonably priced and gives off a decent light.
I hang one on each end of my tarp for an even light.
There are no batteries to die, no bulbs to burn out no gasoline or mantles to carry,.
They can be hung in the top of the tent on cold nights and will increase the temp. inside the tent.
I took a piece of pvc capped the end and made a holder for extra candles. I never go canoeing without my lanterns

Great product

I have used one of these for many years along with the overhead reflector. It provides hours of soft light. It's not a campfire, but then again.....its the perfect Leave No Trace method to have some ambiance in camp without having to go to the trouble of gathering wood, monitoring the fire to keep it under control, or disposing of the charcoal and ashes the next morning.
I bought this as a gift for a friend who was impressed with mine.

Great Candle Lantern

Every one in my family has at least one of these. I gave them in a winter car survival pack one year. One candle can keep you alive in very cold weather, and this is a very good, safe candle to use most anywhere. They are also great for camping!

Lasts for years!

I have had 4 of these for 15 years and finally just replaced the globes and bought a new one. I wish they came with the old plastic container they used to come with for protection. I'd even pay more for that part...

I hope this lantern is offered forever

I already owned one of these lanterns and used it for camping but a recent power outage convinced me of the need for a couple more. A convenient, safe, reliable light source.

Impressed enough to buy 4 more

Nice item to have camping for subdued background lighting, and great on the picnic table. Excellent to have at home for emergencies. Easy to replace candles.

Just as advertised.

This item serves as an emergency lantern. As such, it stays packed in an easy to reach place.

Negative Reviews:

poor quality

The metal is extremely thin as compared to my other candle lanterns that I purchased a couple of years ago. To the point that careful handling is necessary. Edges are very sharp. The sliding globe needed extreme effort to raise.
Basically UCO went with cheaper materials. I would rather pay more than buy the poor quality exhibited in this lantern
