Anthony Van Engelen brings a solid new direction to the Core line with his third signature shoe, the AV3. It has a vintage athletic feel, taking inspiration from retro soccer shoes fused with Vans classic style. The slim, fitted upper has modern simplicity and is very lightweight. The bottom unit features cold cement wrap construction with custom bones texture and an internal PU midsole with the classic waffle grip outsole. It creates a lightweight, highly cushioned, and grippy ride. The custom signature graphics, perforation details, and pinking sheared sidestripe finish this design perfectly to Anthony's specifications.
Anthony Van Engelen comes correct with his first pro-model shoe on Vans. The AV Era is based on the original Era from 1976 but has been re-built to survive the punishment of modern street skating. The shoe features Boardfeel technology, which takes cupsole construction to the next level, replicating the grip and feel of vulcanized but with better support and cushioning. Check out Van Engelen's unique style -- cholo fonts and work wear flannel integrated with premium suede and canvas materials.

Anthony Van Engelen designed his third signature skate shoe, the Vans Men's AV3, by fushing vintage soccer style with an old-school skate feel. AV added PU midsoles for lightweight flexibility (‘cause flexibility doesn’t do ya much good if your shoes feel like bricks). | When I was headed to the states I figured I'd take a look at your website. I had already been a little disappointed with the fact that your Canadian site seems to carry a much smaller inventory than its American parent, and still priced items in American dollars (though I can understand the difficulty in currency translations with an international company). However, once I found the shoes I wanted (for a good deal too mind you), I soon discovered I wasn't able to ship to an American address while billing a Canadian credit card. I phoned the sales line and was pleasantly surprised with how courteous and accommodating the sales rep was. The order placement was quick and easy, and having said I was ordering from Victoria and only had a week before arriving, I was even provided with vip.zappos.com access for faster returns and shipping. So kudos for that! FYI, one of the pairs of shoes I ordered was for my girlfriend who manages the support department at a locally-based software company. Upon telling her where I ordered the shoes and how pleased I was with the service, she informed me that her company, as well as others, use your highly-regarded customer service protocols as a model to better their own customer relations! So all-in-all, I'd give you 2 thumbs up and a pat on the back, but you're an internet company, so I can't. And I just realized this was a review for the pair of shoes I bought, and not the service provided. My bad. So briefly, the shoes fit great and look good, too! Thanks Zappos. | |

| Vans AV3 - I have stayed true to Vans for a long while, but was recently considering trying the Gazelle that Adidas skateboarding released. Then I found the AV3. Essentially, Anthony Van Engelen wanted his own version of what Dennis Busenitz has with his pro Gazelle shoe from Adidas, and the AV3 is as close to a replica of that as you will find. Great design, cool colorways (also check out the blue & white version), super comfortable, and solid for skating. Its perfect for skaters looking for great board control/feel & who love to rip at top speed. | |

| Great shoe! I love these shoes and will definitely buy another pair. They were a little tight when I first got them, but that's how things go. After I skated in them for a few minutes, they felt great. The insoles are extremely comfortable, good for people like me who are prone to heel bruises. I've been skating in them for a few days now and they are holding up well and the micro waffle grip soles rule. | |

| Good Shoe - The shoes are insane. They are super comfy and fit exactly to size. The only thing was that at first the tongue felt a little snug on the top of the foot, but it went away very quickly. They skate really well, too. Board feel is just like vulcanized… plus the padding. So perfect! Shoe is my size and style. | |

| Red Suede Vans AV3 - I had been looking for a pair of red suede sneakers for a long time. Bingo! Found them on Zappos. While the look and comfort of these shoes is first rated I must say that after wearing them sporadically for 3 weeks they look years old. I am disappointed that they have aged so fast. | |

| AV3's - It’s a pretty decent shoe. Vans are great shoes, but durability wise they're not the best as opposed to other companies. They’re a bit tight then what I'm used to, I usually skate Lakai and Lakai only. I like them, and the durability is the only problem. | |
