Comfy fit right out of the box

| I needed a pair of boots that would work on the job for the varied terrain I work around and the exotic locations traveled to in SE Asia. This boot is sturdy and very supportive to hold up to 25-35 lbs and light enough to for one to make a dash for that final evening train. The Gore-Tex XCR is excellent for humid climates all around SE Asia and warm enough for cold climates on Mount Fuji. It boasts a very snug-fitting, yet comfortable heel for those with narrow feet. Insoles and sock liners are recommended to add more luxury for your feet. Easy to break in (less than 2 days) with no blister problems. Lacing system leaves user the option to utilize different lacing configurations which is a real plus for customization. It feels like a trail runner. These are always first on my travel list. It's best for those with narrow heels and medium to low volume feet. | |

excellent boots | |

| I bought these boots shortly before leaving for a week hiking in the Dolomites. They were very comfortable right out of the box, even on a 9 hour hike the first day! I often have a problem with blisters in new boots, but not these. I had also developed achilles pain just before leaving - and was nervous about hiking - these boots are so supportive, the pain was unnoticeable while wearing them, then returned when I wore anything else during our trip. Traction was good - on uphill and steep downhill with loose rocks and lots of shale. My feet stayed dry hiking through 1 foot deep snow at the foot of a glacier. I would definitely recommend these boots. Size is a little narrow and I had to buy the wide, although I don't usually. | |

Perfect pick! | |

| I bought these a week ago, with the intent of starting them out with a hike in the Grand Canyon - the only break in they had before the hike was 2 days walking around town, and they gave me no problems with comfort on the trail! Unexpectedly, the hike ended up during a blizzard - we were in at least 6 inches of snow all the way. Feet stayed perfectly dry, and completely warm. The success of the traction was probably more due to snow spikes, but even walking around on ice without them the morning after the storm, the boots didn't slip once! Wonderful boots. | |

| I just started hiking this past spring. These were the 1st pair of hiking boots I ever bought. At the store I tried on about 10 pair - these were the only ones that felt perfect. After wearing them on a couple of weekend hikes, I continued to get nasty rubb spots on my feet. I added sock liners and they seemed to fix that problem. I alternate between this pair and another, and like these the best for confort. My feet aren't even tired after a full day hiking (my legs, etc are - but not my feet) | |

| I bought these boots ahead of time so that I had time to break them in...that was completely unnecessary. They were comfortable from day one. I had never worn boots above the ankle even though I need the support and becuase I thought they were too restrictive, but after these boots everytime I need a supporting, breathable hiking boot, vasque will be my brand. | |

Nice boot - not waterproof at all

| While this boot is very comfortable and seems to be well constructed, the GorTex XCR lining is worthless. The first time I got them wet my feet got wet to the point of having to wring out my socks. If you want a tennis shoe type hiker and have no expectation of dry feet, this is a good one, if you expect to walk in wet grass and puddles, you should not spend [$] on these - pay for something that lives up to their claims for water resistance | |

So, So good | |

| These were my first hiking boots, I was very excited to get them out on the trail, because they seemed very comfortable at the beginning and great ankle support. I've had these a full year and still can not break them in. If you have wide feet, these are not the boots for you. If you wear more than one sock, forget about being able to walk the next few days. I'm sure these boots are great for women with narrow feet but not for wide. | |

Comfortable but leaks!

| I loved the fit of the Breeze, as it needed no break-in time. No blisters, roomy in the toe-box, adequate ankle support. However, while backpacking on day 2 of a 30-miler, my feet got soaked during a thunderstorm. I'm returning them. Too bad, because these boots are extremely comfortable. Best for day hikes where wet feet aren't a big concern. | |

Not My Favorite | |

| Really highly priced for a pair of boots that I didn't like. I wanted some hiking boots to hike Iron Mountain in San Diego and these did not break in quickly at all. They were stiff and hurt my feet. I traded them in for a great pair of Merrells. | |

Problems with durability

| I purchased these while I was in the Pacific NW working. I wore the midlength boots for two weeks during day hikes in the Olympic Penninsula and in Glacier Park. The first day, I got a blister, but never again. They did not give me good ankle support. They were comfortable and kept my feet dry. But, after 2 wks, the inner fabric mesh started to come apart. I returned them. | |
