Great hiking boots
I bought this boot for the arch support, since I had been having serious problems with Plantar fasciatis for over a year. This boot, along with an orthotic insert and anti-inflammatory treatments, has virtually cured a major problem with my feet. I also learned, that [*] this is a very tough, long wearing, waterproof, breathable, boot. I have worn them virtually every day for 8 months and they show no signs of failing. I'm not known for being easy on equipment, either.I've just bought 2 additional pair, just in case they are discontinued. All in all, an excellent, very comfortable boot, that I highly recommend.
Great for day hikes
These are one of the most comfortable shoes you will put on you're feet and are great for day hikes. I would not recommend them for multi-day hikes because they are not waterproof. I put them on my feet and put them in water half way up on the shoe and after 10 minutes they both started leaking. You might say this doesn't matter, but when you are 15 miles from nowhere and it has rained for 2 days it will matter then.
Love these boots
I have owned the Vasque Breeze before. I am hard on boots, many miles, long trips in the Grand Canyon, canyons in Utah, and Yosemite and the Breeze holds up. Like any shoe, the tread wears - but the uppers hold up. One problem on earlier boots is that the toe piece came unglued over time. I attribute that to many miles of dry, arid conditions, though.
