my favorite shoe is la sportiva fireblades, however, last year on a few long and rockier runs through the northern utah mountains, my feet were a little tender and i wanted to try vasque's newer models. i decided to try this shoe for the spring/early summer and i am very please with its performance. i will definitely purchase this shoe again. it is pretty low profile yet has a decent amount of cushion for longer runs. handles a variety of terrain and has left my feet blister free after 3 long runs between ~ 20-40 miles. very light and porous. great for stream crossings as water will exit quickly. probably not so great if you tend to run on very sandy trails, as because it is so breathable the mesh takes in sand. i have pretty normal to slightly wide feet and it fits perfect. however, this might not be the best shoe for those with really narrow feet.
I have had several running shoes over the years, which also do double duty as walking shoes and every-day shoes. Most last way less than 6 months. I have had these for well over a year, of very heavy use, and they are still holding up well. I just ordered another pair to have on hand when the current pair wears out, which I know will happen one of these days. I pronate fairly severely, and these shoes give great support for walking many miles on any terrain, as well as running.
Really light weight, just started trail running and really love these. good grip and they handle a variety of surfaces pretty well, I normally run in woods and they do great over rocks, roots and even mud and snow. I would absolutely recommend these to anyone looking for a modest priced running shoe. I did however, find theses for about $30 less at REI.
I purchased this shoe to go hiking & mushroom picking. I bought the Mindbender Gortex (GTX) version. It is sooooo comfortable !
slightly wider toe box;well cushioned and light weight; will not be durable - bottom of sole wearing after 10 miles; vibram would make these awesome - grips much better on ALL trail surfaces and lasts 10 years instead of 10 miles; gusset tought would help as top of tonque not quite wide enough; wish would make in same colors as men's model; would buy again on sale from Sierra Trading for $65, but durability issues makes it not worth $100
