Light fabric tape protects tube from spoke/nipple/rim puncture. Measure the inner width of your rim (over the spoke nipples) to determine the proper size.
These adhesive-backed cotton strips help protect tubes from spoke ends.

| I've tried many different rim tapes/strips on many different wheelsets. The only one that has never failed me is Velox. I won't use anything else now. Don't be tempted by the cheaper ones, or lighter ones, or thinner ones (which can make tire mounting slightly easier). Stick with the more reliable Velox rim tape and avoid unnecessary flats. | |
