The Yakima Control Towers in conjunction with Landing Pads will replace Yakima Locking RailRiders as a quick ‘n' easy-to-install rack. Control Towers snap solidly into Landing Pads (required; our item no. YAK0080) which fit into almost every factory track. Throw in crossbars, and voila! you have yourself a Yakima base rack that carries a full load of gear. Control Tower is the best rack system I have had on any of my trucks. They make taking to rack on and off really easy. Important when gas prices are high. They are really secure, when you rotate the tab into place it pushs rods outward into the landing pad for a secure hold. Lock the tower and your off to the races! It used to take me more than a half hour to install or remove my rack. Now it takes less than five minutes. This system should get a gear award! | |

| I have used just about all Yakima towers in the last twenty years or so, and these are the easiest to get on and off the car. They clamp to the crossbars and don't have to be adjusted every time you put them on and off. | |
