They work, simple to get on and off, and come with a carry bag so you can toss it in the back when you're not using that part of the rack or need to take it off for kayaks or whatever. Nice and low profile, so I'd imagine you can leave these on when using many other rack accessories. Only disadvantage is they're not lockable to the rack....but most canoers are good folks, so I can't imagine anyone would really stell them.

I was one of those people that thought just strap it on with whatever and it will be fine. I was way wrong. Using the Gunwale brackets keeps the canoe nice and tight with minimal effort. It also keeps me from banging up the rails and allows me to load the canoe buy myself without making character marks on the XJ. The padded straps are also nice and helpful not just for the canoe but with other things as well.

Yakima gunwales sercurly holds my canoe in place. Now I can make 4 wheel drifts in my 4 runner with out the worry of the canoe sliding off. I hate using the blue blocks for travling, this product really works.

"Great, went on easy and held firmly" |

It was a dark and stormy night when the trip began. The brackets cradled my old canoe like a new father. The straps tightened and held like I had only immagined before.

Yakima Gunwale brackets w/strap. Held 2 canoes firmly in place on bumpy roads. Easy to strap on and remove. Highly recommended
