Best Trunk Rack I've Used
| Rating: | ![]() |
Before this rack my only experience was with the Saris Bones trunk racks. The Yakima Quick Back is much easier to install and includes many convenient additions. The labeled straps make installation simple, and if you're installing on a glass trunk or hatch Yakima has included interchangeable straps for you. There are clamps to hold the excess rope so that it isn't flying around as you drive. Also the anti-theft cable is a good idea. I doubt that it would stop anyone who is very determined to steal the rack, but it will definitely help keep honest people honest. It works well on my 2003 Camry and easily goes over the spoiler. The only problem that I've had with it is that the sides of my trunk are angled inward and if I don't tighten the side straps extremely tight they slide downward and become loose. Because of all of the other positives of the rack I overlook this and use it as an excuse to get the straps extra tight. But it is something you should consider before buying it for yourself.

Nice Rack | |

I pretty happy with this product. While it is not cheap, it is well built and sits very solidly on my trunk. I tried a different brand before this one and the Yakima is far superior. My only complaint is that they advertise that they have a bottle opener on the arms. Well it is flimsy for a bottle opener (made of plastic). I used it to open a Sam Adams the first day I got it and it dug into the plastic pretty deeply. I don't think it would last very long. But I bought it to haul my bike not to open beer bottles. For the former it is great.
