| I've been searching for something like this because we have three kids and a dog in a mid size SUV. We also like to take a surfboard with us and thus needed room on the roof for that versus a big giant nerd box on the roof. The Yakima looks great, takes up only half the space on top of a Mountaineer and is deep enough to fit about three packed roller bags (versus the shallower Thule) one soft bag, and fit in some miscellaneous junk around them such as individual golf clubs, rackets, poles, etc. We've travelled with it twice now and it's pretty indispensible. It definitely has opened up our comfort in travelling and we don't have to pollute the universe with a giant SUV. | |
