INSTANT SECURITY FOR LOCKABLE YAKIMA ACCESSORIES
- Fits all lockable accessories
- Buy what you need, but anticipate growth
- Included key fits everything in pack
- Sold in sets of 2 #07202, 4 #07204, 6 #07206, 8 #07208, 10 #07210 and 12 #07222 Q: Why don’t lock cores come with all products?
A: It is the only way to have one key for the entire system. Let’s say you bought a Q-tower system and two bike mounts. If the cores came with each product, then the cores would not match and you would have 3 different keys for the rack. Add another accessory, add another key to your ring. Instead, a 6 pack of lock cores will lock the set of towers and both bike mounts and keep everything on the same key. Having the locks separate also gives you an option. If you don’t want them, you have the option of not purchasing them, or they can be added on later.
Q: Can I get more locks that match my current key number?
A: If your key/lock number starts with the letter "A” then you can. If the number starts with a number or any other letter, that means they are older, pre-SKS locks, and cannot be matched. SKS locks can be special ordered by your local dealer, or call us at (888) 925-4621.
Q: I lost my key, how can I get another?
A: If you know your key number, your dealer can order replacements for you, or you can contact us directly at (888) 925-4621 (M-F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., PST). If you do not know your key number, but you did send in your key club registration, we can look it up for you. Still not the answer for your situation? Well, if your locks were produced after 1992, and your key number is still a mystery, it can be found on the side or back of the lock "core" itself. Accessing it will require a locksmith to pick one lock, and a control key (the "gold blank" key that comes with every set of locks) to remove the core from the housing. Once the lock core is out, you can read the number and order new keys.
Q: How long has the SKS system been around?
A: The Same Key System started in 1993.
Q: Are SKS locks theft proof?
A: Sorry, but no. Given enough time and the right tools a thief will get what he wants. SKS is a very good, easy to use, theft deterrent, but nothing is really theft proof. Our advice is to remove gear when you are not transporting it. Some personal property insurance policies may cover theft, but check with an insurance agent before hand, to be sure.
The Yakima "Same Key System" (SKS) Lock Cores offer instant security for lockable Yakima accessories. Yakima offers their Lock Cores separately from other products as a convenience, so that you can have one key for your entire Yakima system.
Say, for instance, you purchased a Q-tower system and two bike mounts. If the cores came with each product, then they would not match and you would have 3 different keys for your rack system. Add another accessory, add another key to the chain. Instead, a 6 pack of lock cores will lock the set of towers and both bike mounts and keep everything on the same key.
The Yakima SKS Lock Cores 4PK allows you to add locking functionality to your rack and accessories. If a piece of your rack is SKS Lock Core compatible, you can use the included master key to insert the cores. Then use the included key to open all 4 locks.

Yakima SKS Lock Cores. These are the heart of the Yakima SKS system, and are easy to install in every rack and mount that have the words "lockable with SKS cores" next to them. Yakima SKS Lock Cores are available in 2, 4, 6, and 8 packs. Buy the pack that fits your needs.

"They work and they last and you need them."

| I have had my Yakima system / arsenal for 10 years now and it has been flawless the entire time. Now I am expanding it to my wife's CRV. It is amazing how well this thing grips my wife's car. She will not get it off without the keys. : ) I consider these things mandatory as some rack accessories I own are only reliable if they are locked. If you want to have a great rack system buy a Yakima system. If you buy it from Moose Jaw you get the reward points and many times free shipping. Nobody discounts Yakima gear. This is as good as it gets. | |

Consider Future expansion
| Rating: | ![]() |
If your just getting your first rack, consider getting more lock cores than you need right now. If you had to by new cores ever time you get a new peice to your rack (believe me expansion does happen) you'll end up with several more keys on your key chain than need be. Consider getting an 8 or a 10 pack, and keep the extra volume and weight out of your pocket.

"Yakama SKS lock cores delivered in a flash. ordered 10-14-09. Received 10-15-09."

| How do you write a thoughtfull review about Yakama sks lock cores? They lock stuff. They lock stuff good. They lock stuff with only one key.(ie. One key fits all) They fit Yakama components hence the name Yakama sks lock cores. They are cute, little, round and lockable things that when used properly protect your gear. You know you want your gear protected. | |

Easiest locks you will ever install
| Rating: | ![]() |
These things are so easy to install it makes you wonder why they give you instructions. If you got anything someone might like to swipe from you strapped to the top of your car, you cant go without these. Like the other guys said before me, get more than 4. They're well worth it

Necessary and good | |

Without these, you can unclip the q towers or ski rack or what have you off your car. I have never had a problem with these after riding over 10k-15k miles with them on including 3 2150 mile trips with them on. Never had a problem with them opening up or anything

"Good for keeping your stuff safe"
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Theses locks work great with the rest of my yakima system, and keep my stuff safe from people who suck. My only complaint is that they are not compatible with my hullraiser kayak carriers, as far as I know. So I have to take those off after I am done with them. | |

"A must-have" | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| These are a really good and convenient way to not have your stuff stolen. The best part, is that you can order more locks for the key you already have. So if your needs grow, you don't have to keep collecting more keys. One key locks/unlocks them all! | |

Get more than 4! | |

The locks are great, don't get me wrong. I bought 4 to keep my rack from leaving without me.

Peace of Mind | |

If you are going to plunk a couple hundred into your roof rack, it only makes sense to spend an extra $50 to ensure that rack stays with you. The core locks are easy to install and worth the peace of mind knowing that rack is locked on.

"Good insurance" | |

| A wise investment to make sure your rack stays on your car. These lock cores fit right into the roof rack I just purchased and were simple to install. It came with two keys and one special one designed to install the lock core. | |
