Massey's Outfitters

IT’S NEVER GOOD WHEN YOUR SURFBOARD FLOATS AWAY. ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH.

- Carry up to two surfboards with each pair of StrapThangs
- Compatible with board bags
- Not recommended for bungee jumping off of picnic tables. So let’s put an end to that right now, before somebody gets hurt

Q: How many surfboards can I carry?
A: You can carry up to two surfboards with each pair of StrapThang.

Q: Does it work with board bags?
A: Yes, but you must keep the fin(s) installed and within 6 inches of the front crossbar. See the product instructions for more information.

Q: What kind of maintenance should I perform?
A: Be sure to inspect the rubber cord periodically for any cracks, cuts or abrasions, and replace if necessary.

Q: Is the StrapThang lockable?
A: Nope, but dude, the StrapThang is so slick you'll be in the water before a thief could snag your board anyway.

"Strap Thang is awesome!"

Rating:*****
Hey, Yall! I purchased the Strap Thang for my wife's birthday. We live in NH and surf all year round. Yes, NH does have a castline and yes there is surf though not much. Winter surfing here means water temps in the 30's with ambient temps in the same range if not lower. Add wind and you have some cold conditions. Cold water and air equals cold hands. My wive has Reynaud's Syndrome, a condition that restricts the bloodflow to her extremities, greatly reducing her dexterity and strength when she is cold. Using traditoinal cam-straps or line is almost impossible for her she often has a hard time unlocking her car. The Strap Thang's large, mechanically simple parts enable her to carry

"Expensive but a must!!"

Rating:*****
Yakima builds some very well thought out and well engineered equipment. Basically, you pay alot for long-lasting equipment that will never fail you. The Strap Thang's are in this category and allow you to easily place surfboards on your rack. The adjustability to allow more than 1 board is quick & easy. You could fumble with a motorcycle tie-down or other straps, but lets be real, when you are strapping your board down on your rack, you are usually racing to a surf. So, a few bucks well spent will get you in the water that much quicker.

"Awesome wax for the racks. Keeps the boards where they should be - on top."

Rating:*****
Just put fender flares on my truck and that little 3 hour job became 8. But 2 sets of these went on in 30 minutes. I was stoked. They're super easy to use and my boards are finally staying tight against my pads. No more worries about the boards flying off, causing a 10 car pile up, and watching head high surf while holding half of board on the shore.

"They're alright, but make me a little worried"

Rating:***
My surfboard didn't fly off my car, so it definitely did the job. But it wasn't tight enough to give me 100% confidence. Every time I stopped somewhere, I re-tightened to make sure everything was alright. My worry is that, over not too much time, they will become too loose to safely carry my board. But only time will tell...
