Quantum Escalade Baitcast Reel Reviews:

Great Reel

This is the first bait caster reel I have owned. I used an abu garcia reel that was my dads and had a lot of problems. This reel is very easy to use.The 9 bearings makes for a smooth retrieval and the 7:1 gear ratio makes for fast retrieval so you can spend more time in the strike zone. I have this paired with a 6'6 Medium action 1 piece Ugly stick, with 15lb line and I'm throwing 4" Senkos on a 2/0 Gamakatsu Offset shank worm EWG hook. For those who are new to baitcasting reels, make sure you pay attention to the line and lure weights specified to use with the reel because that makes a huge difference in easiness of casting. Also I suggest a bit longer of a rod as well, 6ft and up. Overall this reel is great and I would definitely buy again.

Well made, great casting reel

I am new to baitcasting reels but I like a challenge so I began looking for one and came across this gem. I bought it paired with a one piece 6' casting uglystik, watched "how to" videos on youtube, and practiced in the front yard with a 3/8 plug. This thing is awesome, I made my adjustments and haven't gotten a big birdsnest yet. This reel is soooo smooth and I can cast it about 10yards further than any of my spinning reels with the brakes set on the #2 setting. I recommend this reel and never will go back to spinning again.

GREAT REELS!

This is my first baitcaster and i was hoping i didnt buy the wrong one, and I didnt! These reels are great, they are easy to use and easy to adjust. I casted it a couple times and got a birds nest, then adjusted once and after that its been great since. If i can cast it with no problem anyone can. Great reel for the price, you wont find anything as smooth or built as well for the money!!

Ive got it paired up with a 7'0" St. Croix Mojo BassMH action rod. evn tho tht is ment 4 Crankbaits but it still has great sensitivity 4 evrything else. anyway i wud definetly buy this agin and agin plus quantum is the best brand. o and dont listen to the bassin all yer dude's comment it is very smooth.

Well constructed reel, good looking.

i like the fact that it has 10 bearings, i was iffl when i bought this reel, but i got it for [$] and i couldnt go wrong with that. it is very similar to the kvd sig series reel from bass pro. the only thing i dont like about it is that the retrieve isnt very smooth, but the braking system is outstanding! solid reel!

NIce Reel!

I bought this reel recently since it was onsale. After the first use, I took it back. The reel was very noisey. I exchanged it for another one and it worked perfect. I have a couple of max's that were my favorite. However, this reel is my new favorite. Casts Far. Reels smooth. Set it up right and you will have less backlashes.

Best Bargain

I bought the real on a Saturday and used it on Sunday went out on Monday and bought another one to replace my older one. This is awesome. The adjustments are easy and great and with the 9 bearing system it is one of the smoothest reals I own and I fish on amateur circuits... Highly recommend this one.

So far so good

Well I have given the reel a few stress tests trying to reel in and land my coffee table while sitting in my Lazy Boy and so far so good. The reel is smooth and seems like it it put together well. We shall see if it can handle the big Ontario pike this May.

Not bad

Pair this up with a 7'2" medium-heavy action rod with some 50 lb braid and you'll be set up well. I use it primarily for flipping into thick cover and weeds. A 7:0:1 GR along with the braid will help land the largemouth every time. I recommend this setup for this specific reel.

great for price

have the escalade paired with a 7ft vendetta rod and use mostly crank baits and reel works like a charm plenty of power to handle big fish and easy to ajust would definetly recommend to a friend works just as good as my revo ambassador cant go wrong for the money

brake problems

Well at first I was impressed with the cast distance the out of no where the brake wouldn't work at all.(back lash city. and the line kept breaking at the spool side of the line guide. So I ran some yarn through guide and it was sharp all the way around the inside of the guide sleeve!!!! not beveled or machined smooth in any way! now [*] off!!!!!! then i broke her down and greased her up with one last desperate attempt. after two nice long distance casts I changed bait (lighter weight) and the [*] brake felt like it just stripped threads or gears or something. mad as hell and on my way to dicks sporting goods to exchange it for a new one. however it wont bring back the $50 -$75 in bait i lost because of the unfinished/non-machined guide. NOT HAPPY!

Good starting out, fails on long haul

I've had two of these reels, neither of which lasted 6 mos. I fish a lot (almost daily) and cast a lot, which was one of the selling pts. When they started out, both reels were very smooth and worked well. However, both have developed problems with reeling in - one binds so badly that it stops the retrieve periodically, while the other has gotten so loud you can hear the gears turning inside despite oiling. It's only a matter of time before it fails too. Save your money and invest in a better quality reel.
