2XU Elite L/S Compression Top -

2XU designed its new Elite Compression Long Sleeve Top to be worn as both an active and recovery piece. Essentially, this means that the composition of the top works to support your upper body's muscles during physical activity, but also aids in recovery by promoting blood circulation to these same core groups of muscles. This duality is achieved using a blend of 2XU's innovative compressive fabrics that target specific areas of your body with different 'levels' of compression.

The top uses what's called 'graduated compression,' where the enacted pressure is regulated throughout the top, slightly easing vertically along the piece. The fabrics used to deliver this graduated compression are a blend of 2XU's technical materials known as PWX. Standing for Power, Weight, and Flexibility, the PWX Flex fabric used to construct the bulk of the Elite Compression Top provides the ideal balance of these characteristics. To achieve this, the material features elastomeric yarns that are structured through a high-grade circular knit in order to provide 360 degrees of flexibility. The top's shoulders and arms were targeted with the powerful PWX Weight material, which encourages maximum blood flow return toward the heart. Together, the fabrics provide ample stretch, strong wicking capabilities, heightened breathability, and, most importantly, effective compression. Through this compressive design, circulation is increased by increasing the venous function (think blood veins). As a result, more oxygen makes its way through the blood stream, and it's oxygen that plays a vital role in reducing muscle fatigue.

However, when your exercise is complete, the Elite Compression Top also aids in your recovery. Once again, the promotion of circulation is crucial. This not only reduces immediate fatigue, but it shortens the duration needed for recovery when worn during and after exercise. This means that you'll get the right amount of compression in the right location for a recovery that's specific to your activity.

The 2XU Elite Compression Top - Long Sleeve is available in sizes Small to XXX-Large and in the colors Black/black and Black/steel.

2XU Elite L/S Compression Top Review:

As far as compression, this is great. Good fit, you can clearly feel the graduated compression, especially in the forearms. Retains heat nicely. Have not tried to verify the recovery claims, but it passes the workout test.
