Acorn Talara Bootie -

Like a pretty Russian nesting doll, the Acorn Women's Talara Bootie Slipper has heirloom-quality looks. Its decorative embroidery could have been hand-stitched by your grandmother, and graces your feet with colorful embellishment. The plush Sherpa fleece lining offers the same comfort as a hot cocoa by the fire on a cold night, and insulates while wicking moisture to keep feet toasty but not clammy. Your foot is cushioned by a memory foam and featherweight EVA midsole, while the raised heel and arch provide support and enhance stability. When you're wearing these beauties outside the house, the non-slip, weatherproof outsole grips the ground and keeps your feet dry.

Cute as heck. Because of the way this is sized (S, M ,L) and because I am in-between sizes (7.5 to 8) I ordered both Medium and Large. The medium fit a half size small (like a 7) and the large fits a half-size or so large (like an 8.5). So the size range stated is pretty accurate - they fit pretty much like the middle size in the stated range (in case you were wondering, because I was). I'm keeping the large even though they are a bit floppy, so if you prefer a more molded fit, you might want to size down and wait to see if they stretch out a little. The colors are very vibrant, the outer shell is real wool and the lightweight rubber sole seems like it will be great for stepping outside the get the mail. They seem really well-made and a bargain for the price. All in all, much cuter than the average winter house slipper!

Once they're ON, they're GREAT. As I write this, the high today is minus 2 degrees, so keep that in mind. I wear these with socks, so I have to push my toes into the very end of the slipper and then ease my heel in. It is WORTH IT. My slippers are pretty new, so I think they'll get a little more pliable over time. And they are so PRETTY and WARM! The no-skid rubbery soles also let me sneak outdoors for minor tasks without changing shoes. I stopped wearing mules because, unless they are a fairly tailored design, I have had them slip off my feet on carpeted stairs and scare the heck out of me. These are a better and safer design.

These slippers are so cute and comfortable (I'm wearing them right now!) and unique. After buying a pair for myself I bought two more for Christmas presents.

Love these! They are super comfy and warm. I have been wearing them since Christmas and they are by far the nicest slippers I've ever had!

Negative Reviews:

I usually love Acorns and own the slide version of this slipper and love it. But after buying this high-top version elsewhere (sorry Zappos) I was really sad to find that it was quite uncomfortable and will return it. While the boiled wool is beautiful, the edge around my ankle is very, very scratchy and wore quite a red welt around both ankles in a very short time. Admittedly, I have somewhat sensitive skin, but this isn't the comfort I'm looking for at the end of a hard day. Everything else about the slipper is fine. But if I had to wear them long enough to "break them in" my ankles would have bled.
