Plugging on the jetties

I do a greeat deal of fishing from the various jetties in south Jersey and needed a rod slightly longer than the typical spinning rod but shorter than the 9 to 12 foot traditional surf rods. The extra length was needed to avoid getting hung up in the rocks while retrieving the not so cheap lures used for stripped bass. This rod has enough flex to give a good distance cast, enough length to help with retrieval and more than enough strength to fight the bigger fish.

Great Surf Casting Rod

I have found the 10' Tsunami rod to be a very versatile and well constructed rod. Quality ferrules and a very "grippy" handle. It casts well, is very sensitive to light bites (surf perch) and has enough backbone to handle pacific coast stripers. I especially like the two piece construction as it allows me to easily transport it in my jeep. Thanks Cabela's.

Strong rod

Great feel to the rod. Loads well on casts and the two piece design makes it easy for transport. On my first trip out with it, hauled in a 35 pound bull red out of the surf with no problems.

good rod but corrosion issues

Have been fishing with the Tsunami Trophy eight foot rod for over a year now. We fish at least twice a week from the surf and jetties of Delmarva. This rod is a good value for the money. It is light and sensitive. I've caught 30" + striped bass and black drum with this rod with no problems. My only complaint is with premature guide corrosion. I wash of my gear religiously yet the guides are starting to corrode. Felt compelled to write a review because I've never had this issue with other brands.
