Black Diamond AMPerage Ski -
Newly redesigned for 2014, the Black Diamond AMPerage Skis are fully rockered in the tip and tail for drifty powder turns, while the tail has been stiffened up past the contact point for stomping landings and stability on high speed out runs. Additionally, Black Diamond is using ABS sidewall construction throughout their line, resulting in better power transmission from boot to ski, and significantly better edging power on hard snow. The new AMPerage is a fantastic powder and big mountain performer, while still holding its own on the groomers and carving hard pack comfortably.

  • Poplar 3D CNC wood core with pre-preg composite construction

  • [195 cm] 143-115-125
  • Quicker and more freestyle oriented than the Megawatt and Zealot
  • 115mm waist width
  • [175 cm] 141-115-123
  • 8 mm ABS sidewalls and skin-friendly, concrete protecting ABS tail protector
  • [185 cm] 142-115-124
  • [165 cm] 3.9 kg (8 lb 10 oz)
  • Large turn radius sidecut
  • Formula One 3D and ABS sidewalls
  • Power Edge edges
  • 115 mm waist and underfoot camber for effortless transitions from powder to hardpack
  • Full tip and tail Rocker for playful, creative, high-performance skiing
  • P-Tex 4000 base
  • Poplar and birch Internal Wall Core Technology plus an Ollie Bar in the tail for extra pop on take-offs and preventing wheelie-outs on landings

If a crown for the mythical “quiver of one” ski existed, the powder destroying, hybrid fun-shape Black Diamond AMPerage would be a strong contender. The addition of 8 mm ABS sidewalls has given the second generation of our popular Black Diamond AMPerage ski a new bite on firm snow, and they stiffened it beyond the contact point in the tail for easy landings. Whether drifting smear-turns in deep powder or laying trenches on the groomer back to the lift, this ski loves it all.

Oregon Mountain Community
It's a little bit (back)country and a little bit rock and roll! The Black Diamond AMPerage skis can transition from powder noodling to hardpack jamming without getting hung-up in the transition. The dramatic sidecut and 115mm waist make the AMPerage fairly turny, but the tip and tail rocker don't allow the skis to get hooky or hang-up in a mosh pit of wet powder.

Skiing should be fun - and that's what the Black Diamond AMPerage is all about. This "playful" mid-fat ski is designed to huck backcountry booters, make pivot turns in the trees, and smear-turn its way through the powder. Unlike the similarly-sized, super-stiff, hard-charging BD Zealot, the AMPerage loves to turn and spin with its deep sidecut and underfoot camber. Full tip and tail rocker combined with a 115mm waist allow it to turn quickly on the groomers too. Torsion Box construction with a poplar-and-birch core and Formula One Technology reinforcement ribs lend the ski a high degree of torsional rigidity, while  an Ollie Bar tail gives extra pop on take-offs and prevents wheelie-outs on landings.

Optimal Use: 60% soft snow / 40% hard snow

The Black Diamond AMPerage Ski, their second-widest big mountain ski next to the Megawatt, is a powder ski with all-mountain versatility. It's got fat dimensions, rockered tip and tail, and a large turn radius for float, stability, and speed. Traditional camber underfoot and sandwich/sidewall construction give it pop and carving power. That lively poplar wood core also smooths out hyperspeed rides. Suddenly, landings are silkier than ever, ollies come fast and natural, and deep, high-speed drift-turns feel like a high-five with an old friend. Edging across an exposed chute to access pow? With camber and sidewalls, no problem. Staring down a bottomless bowl of Sierra cement? Rockered tip and plenty of girth at your service. (2012)

The Black Diamond Amperage features a deep sidecut, fully rockered tip and tail and 115 mm waist that will get you through all conditions on the mountain. Great for both on and off the resort.
