Merrell Siren 2 Sport Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I've had about 5 or 6 pairs of the Merrell Siren Sport over the past couple of years; they are super. This time I ordered both the Siren Sport and the Siren Sport 2 for comparison. Nothing I could put my finger on, but I liked the feel of this shoe a bit better than the original model. Very comfy! And switching to Merrells a few years ago helped me heal both heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. If you want a really comfortable, good looking walking shoe, these are well worth the money! Thanks as always to Zappos for their excellent selection, quick shipping and worry-free returns.

I'm on my fifth or sixth pair of this shoe in the last 4 years. I wear them for work as a field producer and hiking almost every weekend and wear them out in about 10 months. I am committed to this amazing shoe and it's never steered me wrong. Well, I had to throw away an especially stinky pair after an early morning in some dewey grass and then the rest of the day in a sweltering minivan. But that was my fault. I order a 9 in elephant/pink every time and will continue to do so as long as they'll let me. Cheers Merrell!

After breaking 2 metatarsals and spending 4 months in a walking boot and shoe, doctor recommended rigid sole shoes to transition. These are perfect, with lots of support and they roll as you step, keeping my forefoot from bending too much. They'll be great after my foot's healed as well, great hiking shoe. I've given it 4 stars for comfort since it is a rigid soled shoe. I normally choose softer shoes. Even so, it is comfortable. Overall, a 5 star since it's a stylish, quality shoe.

These arrived and I put them on and went for a 3-mile walk that same afternoon. Not a single pressure point or bit of discomfort. I'm not a runner, so I can't speak to that, but for walking they are excellent. I am not in the best of shape, but whatever else might hurt when I'm walking, my feet are happy. These shoes are lightweight, breathable... so comfortable that, along with my iPod, they keep me from blowing off my daily walk!

This shoe is wonderful! Light weight, stylish, good tread, and comfortable. Except in one area - the toes. I never considered myself to have wide feet, but the side of the ball of my foot rubbed hard against this shoe after a few hours of hiking in moderate terrain. My feet never ached but I was rubbed sensitive on both feet in this area. I would either try a size up, a wide or a different shoe next time.

I purchased these to hike with in the Pacific Northwest and they are a dream! They are comfortable for everyday wear but did wonderful in wet somewhat uneven terrain. Did a mild 6 mile hike and a steep 3 mile with no blisters or discomfort and no slipping laces. Supportive and cute too!

I bought the Merrell Siren Sport 2 shoe because I'm on my feet constantly. I wanted a shoe that would help ease my back pain from standing all day. The Sport 2 has done a wonderful job. I can finish a shift without hobbling out the door. No back pain! Love them!

Negative Reviews:

Loyal Merrell customer, hate these shoes

I have been wearing Merrell's for over 10 years at least. I love every other pair of Merrell's I have ever worn, except these. Owned them for a couple months, but hate them every time I wear them. They run small, so it was recommended to me by the employee to buy a half size larger. In the store, they seemed snugger than normal, but felt good---because Merrell's feel real stable. As I wore them, I noticed after a couple hours, I couldn't wait to get them off. (normally I can wear Merrell's all day long with no problem) The tongue on these has less width in the fabric than normal, so when you tie them, it hurts your feet. I do not have room in them for my arch supports I wear, so had to take out the liners and buy Superfeet supports to put in. (normally do not have this problem)
In trimming down the style of the shoe, it has become just too narrow to feel good on your foot for a length of time. I am experiencing foot problems because of it, and now am sorry I ever bought them. Bad style in my opinion. Think twice on this one!

Poor quality

This shoe was my first experience with Merrell. The shoe was super cute and I found the right size (ran small) and was excited to use them regularly - regularly means I'm a house-goddess who takes care of a small child and does house work. Nothing super active. Less than 3 weeks later most of the seams busted apart making the shoe start falling apart. I contacted Merrell several times and even emailed picture of the shoes and the receipt to prove how short of time I had them, and their customer service was just very rude and would not do anything to help find a solution, and then denied that it had anything to do with them. I wasn't pointing fingers, I just wanted to have a cute and comfy pair of shoes that I could wear around home and errands.

Neutral Reviews:

Not Merrell's best.

I use these for daily wear, walking the dog, etc. I guess Merrell has discontinued the style I used to wear so I picked these up instead. They are true-to-size relative to my other Merrells.

I found the shoes to be very stiff; they took forever to break in and rubbed on the back of the ankle/heel and along the tongue in the meantime. The padding seems a little light but the insoles so far provide adequate support. They're OK now that they're worn in, and I will change out the insoles if needed. But... I'm used to Merrell shoes being very "ready-to-wear" so the comfort level on these shoes leaves something to be desired. Overall an average shoe.
