Whew! I am so glad I got this shoe! I'm normally an 11.5 -- impossible to find. So I seek out the reviews where everyone needed to order a half-size down, and so these are perfect in length. I love how the laces make the entire shoe adjustable, and the foot bed is just right. I can't wait to try them on some trails this summer. There isn't much padding under the ball of the foot and I'd guess that so you can have more grip and control on rocks and uneven surfaces. It's padded where it needs to be, though. No tight spots -- shoes fit right out of the box. No need for break-in time. I'm officially giving up on Keens.

These shoes are amazingly comfortable. I typically wear an 8.5 or 9 (lean towards 9 for athletic endeavors), so I purchased size 40.5. They are well cushioned, yet supportive, and made extremely well. There is plenty of room in the toe but still have a slim look and feel - not bulky and wide like some shoes. I wear them mostly for bumming around, and get comments all the time asking where they can get them. I wouldn't hesitate wearing them on a rugged hike. The Pope would envy my red (Parrot color) shoes...if envy wasn't a sin. I like them so much, I bought a pair for my husband, and he feels the same about the shoes.

These shoes rock for approaches and low grade climbing! They are comfortable, which is great when you are hauling 35 pounds worth of gear up a 10 degree incline. The rubber is great, but not as good as the stealth rubber. You can still climb tons of easy stuff in them, though. They are also stylish in some of the colors (even for a dude). Overall, this is a great approach shoe for everything from long approaches to easy pitches.
(By the way, if you've read my reviews before, you would have realized that I'm a dude. But I'm a small dude so I have to choose women's shoes instead of men's sometimes. So now you know why.)

I quickly tried these shoes on as I saw them last minute on a shopping trip and ran out of time. The 39s fitted OK but looking online I wonder now if they were man's (they were on sale). I wear size 39 Keens Mary Jane type shoes without socks. Any advice on ladies size as I really want a pair but can't find them online in Australia. My foot length is about 25cms or 9.8 inches. I don't have a thin foot. Any advice most welcome. Also do they give a bit after wear as my keens have. Thanks. Jen

I absolutely love these shoes! They are comfortable out of the box, sturdy, durable, eye-catching. I did have to exchange my original order for half a size smaller. The parrot color is not quite as red as I expected, but it is still a great color. They are great as urban shoes and awesome on trails that do not necessitate full on hiking boots.

I loved my shoes right away. Have used them for a few long one-day hikes. They are really light and comfortable. Very good when walking on paths and have a good grip on large stones.
However, they are not very stiff and I would not wear them in terrain that is hard to go over. Then higher and stiffer ankle shoes are probably better.

Love these shoes! I bought them to support the aching joints in my feet...the long laces give me a great fit, better than normal running shoes. The red-orange color (looks like paprika) is very stylish...great with blue jeans. They felt comfortable right out of the box. Next time I'm in the market for shoes I'll definitely consider another pair of Scarpas.

The sizing on the website is WRONG! It is Men's Sizing, not Women's. I originally ordered a size 41 which is listed as a Women's 9. It was way too big, obviously a Men's 9, not a Women's 9. I should have ordered a 39.5 even though it is listed as a Women's 7-7.5, Fortunately Zappos has free returns/exchanges!

I LOVE MY PINK SCARPA SHOES! These are incredibly well-made shoes that you CANNOT beat at a price of less than $100!!!! They look very cool design wise (of course - they're Italian!) , are comfortable, and provide great arch support (an important point to many folks). And Backcountry's shipping was plenty quick!

I absolutely love my Scarpa's. They are the most comfortable shoes, I use them for walking, for workouts, even my trainer is a bit jealous! I am thinking of another color. I highly recommend this shoe to anyone who wants comfort and compliments!

Neutral Reviews:

I read all the reviews about how comfortable these they can be worn all day. Well there are very few shoes that I can wear all day and be comfortable in, so I decided to try these. What I found was that these provide no arch support at all, and very little cushion. They were super comfy while driving to the desert, but once I got out to hike up a very rocky, but short mile-long trail to a mine, my feet were killing me. And they still hurt the next day. My feet literally felt bruised. Too bad, because I love the look of these, but I can only use them as a driving shoe, not a walking shoe, which is pretty useless to me. If you can wear barefoot shoes or minimalist shoes, then these may work for you.
