The North Face Aconcagua Vest Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

When I first ordered this vest I went a size up to an XL. My first impression was how quickly the vest arrived. I love the free 2 day shipping from Backcountry! The vest was too large but the return process was super easy and painless. The size L vest fits perfect and I have worn it constantly. I love it! There are no interior pockets if that is a concern for you. However, everything is wonderful! I love this vest! One tip on the return for Backcountry; I do not live near a UPS drop box, so I printed the return label, affixed it to the original packaging and when the UPS guy dropped off my replacement item I asked him to take my return - VIOLA! Super easy return:) Love this site, love this vest. One Happy Camper:)

I really love the feel of this vest, and the fact it has pink on the inside really makes it unique. People are constantly complimenting my vest, because of it's color. I had previously wanted a black one but this color still goes with pretty much any outfit, only minor issue is that sometimes in a certain light I have been asked if my vest is purple. Due to it being a shinier fabric it does subtly change colors depending on the light you are in. Other than that I love this best and wear it all the time!

My daughter asked for a Northface vest in black. Northface did not have any in stock but I stumbled on to BackCountry.com & found just what I was looking for. My daughter asked for a small because her other Northface jackets are smalls, but after reading the other reviews about sizing, I decided to order two, a small & extra small. I am very glad I did. The small vest was too big. She kept the extra small & my other daughter took the small. Everyone's happy!

I bought a large but had to return it for a medium. The medium fit much better even thought the website suggested I purchase the large based on my height and size. Also, I prefer for my vest to be snug and not loose so it might just be my personal preference. This vest is thinner than my other one I use for camping so we'll see how it works when I get to truly test it out. But it is warm and looks great!

North Face 550 Vest

I would highly recommend this vest. It's great over a sweater and not bulky at all. It fits nicely and I love the way it feels. In fact not only did I buy a white one, but the reason I did, is because I already owned a black one. Get one for yourself or as a gift. You won't be sorry!

I gifted the Aconcagua Vest, to my sister once she received the wright size I thought she was going to pass out, she Loved it ,the fit is perfect . Now I would like to have the same vest also. It's cozy and comfortable. So thank you very much.......And by the way your customer service is outstanding :o) Karen Barry...MD.

Too big

I loved this vest! It was super cute but I ordered an xs and it was just a little big for my taste. I like things to be fitted and there was a bit of extra room in the bust, a place that I am very small! So I unfortunately returned it! For reference I am 5'5" 115 lbs....

Great Vest

I was in need of a neutral color vest so I got it in black and I can wear it with anything. I only wish it had the draw strings on the side, but other than that I love it to bits. Great vest, keeps me warm, and is stylish.
Pudd at The North Face on 11/21/2013

Bought this for my wife. Seems true to size and quality was good.
Other reviews say it runs large, but I bought this in her normal size (small) and it fit perfect.

Negative Reviews:

I purchased the Aconcagua vest awhile back from previous seasons, and this seasons vest is VERY thin compared to the previous versions of the vest. Kind of bummed-- definitely not as warm as my previous one, but I decided to return it and go with the Nuptuse 2 for more warmth-- most expensive, but worth it if you're looking for a nice vest to give you warmth.

Neutral Reviews:

I purchased the Aconcagua vest as well as the Red Blaze vest, both size medium, both in white. I really wanted the Aconcagua to work because for the same price I thought I'd get more use out of a thicker filled vest. In the end, I kept the Red Blaze because of the fit. The Aconcagua fit like a coat, and was too big across my size C/D chest. It also gapped across my upper back. I don't feel that sizing down would have fit any better as it was fine in length and across my hips. I feel that the pattern is cut too boxy/generously for my taste. The Red Blaze offered warmth in a more fitted cut. In regard to color, I preferred the Aconcagua's white even though it had a shine, as the Red Blaze is a very bright white. It was my first experience ordering anything from BackCountry and wouldn't hesitate to order from them again, they were fantastic in every way.

Itwas ugly ! Looked like a pink parachute. It also did not have pocket inside or draw strings at bottom poorly made not like older jackets. I returned to Northface store and got another jacket.

Orange vest

I bought this vest for my teenager. The vest was fine but the color is shockingly ugly, way too bright to wear other than for halloween parade!
Familyshopper at The North Face on 11/19/2013
I don't like that the small size was so big and I wish that it had a draw string at the bottom like the older ones did
Jessyyyy at The North Face on 10/16/2013

The colour and style looks incredible but the sizing runs large. I bought an xs and it fits like a sm or med.
