Positive Reviews:

I ordered 3 back packs to try and test for comfort/fit and to choose one from those 3. I am female, 5'3" and The men's one i tried rubbed my arms, this one was PERFECT! No back pain I loaded it with books and tested it out. Very comfy, zippers are smooth and easy to use, don't get caught. The first compartment is great how much you can organize w different little pockets and holders. This is also a nice size for hiking not too bulky but can fit enough in it. This was a great purchase for all around use! The others I tried from northface had zippers the caught and didn't run smooth. Color was true to online.

Love it!

I got the snakeskin (I think that's what it was) vault backpack before I started my junior year of high school last year. I always had 1-2 large textbooks and a bunch of notebooks and folders in my backpack and it still looks new. The only problem I had with it was that the back was white and my jeans gave it a bluish tint but overall, I absolutely loved the backpack. I'm going to use it again this year and probably through college. It was expensive, but definitely worth it. I even used it as a carry on a couple times and it held everything I needed. You should definitely invest in this bag.

Backpack seems fine overall-a little stiff at the back but sure that helps with support and comfort in the long run. Disappointed in what I received since the colors of the premiere purple/baroque purple seemed to match lunch bags I have, but it is actually more purple-almost blue-violet rather than red-violet that shows on my monitor. Not sure if I'm keeping just yet.

Very sturdy!

I love the backbag and how sturdy it is. I just wish there was a bit more room. The straps are nice and big and I can be walking around campus all day and my back wont hurt! Would deff recommend!

It's a really good backpack; however, I wish it had side pockets to carry a bottle of water for instance. It's is very comfortable and light. Zappos, as always, never disappoints, shipped very fast.

Negative Reviews:

Not so great

I was actually pretty disappointed with this backpack.

I've had an Eddie Bauer backpack for literally, like, six years, and it's starting to wear down a little bit. I decided to buy a new backpack before I spend 4 months in Europe. I bought this one because it was on sale, and it was a North Face (it has to be good, right?). Maybe I didn't like it because I was so used to my old one, but I was really disappointed with this backpack. First of all, it did not have any outside easy-to-access small pockets that are extremely useful. This means that for every small item (keys, my phone, a pencil, etc.) I have to go all the way inside the backpack and search. And these small things normally fall to the bottom somewhere. Additionally, there were no side pockets for water bottles or anything. That is also very problematic! Third, there was something weird about the straps that made my arms really sweaty whenever I used the backpack, even if it wasn't that hot or I wasn't moving very much. Lastly, it had all those other dumb straps that probably only make sense if your pack weighs a ton and you're hiking or something. But for my uses, they were just these dumb straps that dangle around and bounce off the back of my legs.

So in short, maybe I was just so used to my lovely Eddie Bauer backpack that it was difficult to switch to this newer one, but I didn't really like it. I actually switched back to my old one, and I'm hoping to return this one if possible.

A bit smaller than we had expected

It would be nice to have a water bottle holder (pocket), for a day pack, one could get thirsty all day. My daughter uses it in Middle School. It is not big enough for all her 3 ring binders. Her binders are squeezed in. Although it has padding
Great color, and stylish. If I ordered again, I'd have to get a bigger size.
