A great shoe

I like the feel of this shoe. It has a fairly hard sole Vibram to be exact. I love the grip it has on all terrain. It sticks to wet roots better then any shoe or boot I have worn. The only problem I have had is there are these nice looking hard plastic treads on the sole that I have found no reason for them to be there except that that they look good in the store. I fell for it. I thought they looked nice. After four weeks I lost two of them. I do not think they serve a purpose but when I pay this much for a shoe, I do not want parts to break off. They are as I say are just for looks. I love the feel, the traction and the comfort of this shoe. I would buy them again.

These shoes are my favorite shoes right now. I use these everyday they are waterproof and very comfertable. I walk 30 minutes to work every morning and then 30 minutes home. They are a little warm during the summer but I don't think they are to warm and my feet usually sweat a lot in any shoes. I also go running in these. I have ran on roads and off roads with these and they do very good. I have also ran on treadmills with them and I didn't have any problems. I've been using these for about 6 months and I'm happy with them.

These are the best

I used to twist ankles and fall down a lot, but these shoes make me surefooted. I know that sounds crazy, but I haven't sprained an ankle since I bought my first pair almost 10 years ago. I recommended them to a friend who works at Tractor Supply and he loves the high tops. He is wearing them out on the concrete faster than I do, but keeps buying them again. So what can I say, these are great shoes whether you are hiking or just pounding the floors (I teach) these are wonderful shoes.

These shoes are great

I bought these shoes to do some all elements commuting as well as light trails. I have full size boots for more rugged activities. So far I have found these shoes incredibly comfortable. I no longer come home at the end of the day with my feet hurting. The sizing was what I consider spot on (and It is very difficult to find a size 12.5). I haven't really been hit with a lot of wet conditions, but winter is coming. So far a big thumbs up.

I'm a delivery man for a shipping company and badly needed a waterproof athletic shoe. Rainy days use to ruin my day and my feet. Now I can confidently run through puddles and wet grass and not get slowed down. My size 12 fit true. They were comfortable starting with the first wear. The gore-tex material is a little loud at first, but soon goes away. The tread digs in great when I have to run up a wet grass hill to a front door.

Very good shoe. Well balanced and perfect weight for this type of shoe. I wear them to play golf in and they are fantastic.

Negative Reviews:

Poor construction

Pretty disappointed in these shoes. Bought these shoes a few months ago and took them on 2 hikes in yosemite and gros morne mountain and they have already begun to fall apart. The mesh on the outer part of the shoe around the top where the pinky toe is on BOTH shoes has begun to rip. I don't believe it ripped through the goretex layering (yet..) but i did find my feet getting wet in the rain. Not sure how this would happen as i've taken good care of them and my gait pattern doesn't necessarily put stress on that part of the shoe. The fact that it occurred on both shoes in the exact same location makes me believe the sewing construction was poor, rather than some random event while on a hike. I also found there wasn't enough support for me near the ball of the foot and had to add some support, but everyones feet are different biomechanically. Overall, based on the poor durability, would not recommend these shoes.

Not impressed.

I have purchased a number of North Face Hedgehogs over the years and this is the first time I've been disappointed. The construction is definitely cheaper than prior models; weaker eyelets and less material on the uppers by the wear points for example (more mesh). The outsole also seems stiffer particularly under the heal and I have had some foot issues that I did not have before. My take is that North Face added Gortex to their cheaper model and profit margin took precedence over quality.
