Very pleased

I was looking for a jacket that I could use for general wear as well as some outdoor winter activity, and the Kira Triclimate is perfect. Living in upstate NY, a Triclimate jacket is a great investment, because I can wear it from fall all the way until spring. With the liner zipped in, this jacket keeps me warm brushing the snow off my car in the mornings and running errands around town, and I get cold very easily. I wore it hiking one cold (temperatures in the teens), snowy morning, with a long-sleeve tee and fleece pullover underneath it, and before long I was sweating. This jacket probably won't keep you warm just sitting around in the cold, at a sporting event or something like that, but then again, I'm not sure if there are any jackets out there that will. As long as you will be at least somewhat active (walking, shoveling snow, etc) this jacket should keep you warm under most conditions. I'm 5'5" with an average build, and I found the small to be just right. The sleeves are a good length, the bottom of jacket just reaches my hips, and there's no binding in the shoulders. But I would definitely recommend that buyers check the size chart carefully before making a selection as this jacket is a bit on the fitted side. The materials that the jacket are made of appear to be good-quality, with strong zippers, no loose stitching and tough fabric. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this jacket to just about anyone.

Great Jacket, but the Hat is Massive :-(

I am 5 feet 1, and 98 pounds, so I got the XS size. It is roomy in the chest and shoulder area, and the sleeves are about 1.5 inches too long, but they don't make smaller than XS, nor petite sizing. Really good "everyday" jacket for running around, and for skiing, but I don't love the hat. I adore the Barberry Pink color, and the ability to replace the light "puffer" jacket inside, with a soft fleece of a different color so you change up the look. I would like the inside collar of the light puffer that touches your neck to be fleece or a softer fabric (rather than the same polyester/nylon fabric as the puffer itself.....its ok if you wear something around your neck between the jacket and your skin). Very disappointed with the hat - the hat is HUGE...way too big - its like they used a one size fits all, where the One Size is Massive. Even when you pull the elastic to reduce the size, it looks completely silly as there is just way too much fabric - looks like a big badly scrunched up ball on your head, where the front of the hat falls well past your eye line so you cannot see in front of you - North Face, please reconsider the rediculous size of this hat!!. Would be nice to have an inside cord at the waist to give the option to shape the jacket a little more for us Petite folk.

I purchased this jacket on Zappos because the size M, my husband got me was too big and I needed a S. I would like to first say that this is my first time shopping on Zappos ever and I am blown away by how fast my jacket got here. I purchased it on a Thursday and it was on my porch by Friday afternoon! That is amazing. Now about the jacket, beside the fact that it is backed by the North Face name brand, I would like to say that it is worth every penny spent on it. It is light and yet so warm, versatile, non restraining and just the perfect fit for this busy mommy that I am. We thought that M would have been good at first because of the possible need to layer in the -20 weather we get but the truth is with the base thermal layers a simple sweater and this jacket I don't need to wear anything thick. This is the reason why I downgraded the size to a S. I am really please by the product and by the service I received on Zappos. I am going to make this site my to go to for clothes shopping from now on! Thank you!

Great Winter Jacket

I really like this jacket. I've used it for over three weeks while on college campus (in Michigan). It is very warm jacket for walking outdoors for long periods of time. The inner layer allows you to warm up quickly and the outer layer keeps out any rain and snow. The hood is a little big however there is a elastic strap to make it smaller and a zipper to take off the hood completely if you wish to do so. The jacket fits normally and is exceptionally warm. I really like this jacket for its versatility, to just use inner or outer layer, or more likely both for exceptional warmth and weather protection. It works well for just Michigan weather and for outdoor activities like skiing.

Good Jacket, OK quality

I purchased this jacket last year. It's a great jacket, but I have had issues with the quality of it. The inner layer came with a rip inside of the sleeve and the elastic band around the other arm wore out after less than a year of use. I'm taking this back to my local North Face store to replace it with their warranty. I was disappointed because it's a great jacket that looks cool, but the quality wasn't there.

Stylish and reliable jacket for the cold

I skied at -22C this season with the Kira and my Sally ski pants and never once felt cold despite riding on open chair lifts with winds of over 20km/h. In Korea, I fell many times over unfamiliar terrain and again, Kira kept out the snow and wet. I love the slim fit and the jacket looks fine with jeans for travel as well letting me pack less on my ski holiday.

Kira Triclimate Jacket (Women's)

I love this jacket. I purchased the white one (turquoise interior) and it keeps me very, very warm (and dry) in low temperatures while skiing. The XS is perfect for a small/short person and looks great! I've received many compliments! The white is a bit hard to keep clean, but dirt wipes off pretty easily with soap and warm water. Thanks Northface!

Bought the kira triclimate as a Christmas gift for my wife. She was thrilled with the gift and even more so with its performance. The jacket is lighter than what she had but provides more warmth. Great price, great performance, and quick delivery. I highly recommend this jacket from Backcountry

This jacket is great. Warm, waterproof, insulated, stylish. It's great for snowboarding/skiing and I'd say it's one of the best jackets I've ordered so far. I love how it's double-layered with an optional shell inside. You can adjust the warmth of the jacket however you like it.

High quality, good shipping package

As the title indicates, the triclimate trica is of high quality and fits every need. The shipping package protects the item from any possible damage including rain, cut, and other situations. I am very satisfied.

Negative Reviews:

the hood is huge, lets in cold wind and rain

this jacket has a more flexible shell than previous kira jackets which allows greater comfort and ease of sport activities. like previous kira jackets, it is warm, windproof, and waterproof. i am 5'1" 105lbs and the xs is very flattering...except for the huge, ugly hood. this hood is MUCH bigger than previous kira jackets and allows cold wind and rain to enter. here's a rant about how big the hood is... jacket's hood is ginormous! i can wrap the hood completely over my face and still have leftover fabric! i tried to adjust the hood using all the draw strings but it is still huge! the large hood is meant o cover snowboarding helmets and such, but this hood is way too large even with my biking helmet. this season's kira jacket has a hood
