Very Slim fit

I love the shorts. They are comfy, cool, stretchy, smooth flowing fabric... They are just not sized very well. I have other Brooks Shorts, and they fit just fine. These run very snug across the hips. While some stuff is coming out like that these days, it didn't seam like these were designed to fit that way. The waist was ok. But, then it seemed like the rest of the short was a size too small.
I returned these in medium for a large, where my other pair of Brooks shorts fit perfectly in medium.
They are a high performance fabric and I got them on sale. They are nice, if you order up a size from what you usually wear.

My Favorite

4.5 stars.

Love these. Great length (not too short) for my trail running miles. I love the fit. By far my favorite pair of running shorts that I have found since I started running marathons six years ago. I have four pair.

Con: The velcro hip pockets are virtually useless when I'm bouncing around on the trails (had GUs bounce out at a trail race). They've been okay when running on smooth, flat surfaces, but I just use my running belt for GUs now.

Nice and light

This short fits me well, is very lightweight, and very comfortable. The legs are a bit shorter than my other running shorts, but I didn't notice until after I was running. (I run 5-6mi 3x a week on my lunch break.) Though, I'm not dressing to impress on my run...I'm dressing to be comfortable. That being said, the leg length won't deter me from buying a second pair if there's a sale.

Needs zippered pocket

I have a couple pairs of Brooks running shorts and they are my favorites by far. Unfortunately, this pair has neither a zippered pocket nor a secure interior pocket. It has two loose velcro pockets on the outside. Today I was running and the key to my office popped out on the trail. Finally found it but I won't trust the pocket again.

Great shorts for those long runs!

The product is great. My only issue is that it bunches up a bit in the crotch area and I find myself pulling it down.

But they are great running shorts.

great running shorts

I love the Sherpa III shorts, there are two side pockets for gels, etc. AND the interior key pocket

Negative Reviews:

Terrible zip pocket

These are nice shorts, but in the short time I have had them my keys have come out of the zipped pocket three times. Today, I even found my door key from 5 days ago, only to lose it running home. I cannot fathom how, but each time, the zipper comes undone and out will pop the keys. I am returning this pair as defective.

Neutral Reviews:

Ultralight shorts.

I have been using these shorts frequently for a few months now. They are decent shorts.

These shorts are very ultralight. The material is super thin and wispy. After cutting out the mesh inner, I think my merino wool underwear weighs more than the actual shorts. This makes them not very durable. I mostly backpack and hike in these. After sitting on rocks and logs and bushwacking with them, I can tell that the material is getting really scratched up on the surface.

They work great as underwear under your hiking pants and weigh nothing if you want some shorts to throw in your pack.

The pockets on these things are worthless. The little velcro does not hold well and you are going to lose your keys if you trust them to these pockets.

I found that the fit was a little too loose relative to the short length. But that is more of a style preference, I have skinner legs.

There is nothing special about these shorts other than being super lightweight.
