I LOVE these boots! Right out of the box they were so supple that there was not a single bit of "break-in" pain. It's nice to have the Dr. Martens style and quality of construction without having yellow stitching and translucent soles imposed on you (a common feature of many other Dr. Martens models). I got these as motorcycle boots that could double as work shoes (in a "business casual" environment), and these serve both purposes perfectly. I like the chunky, rugged lines. My only complaint is that these boots are not offered in half sizes. A size 10 was too small, and a size 11 was too big for me. However, I simply added a pair of those arched insoles that you can get at any store, and now they fit nicely (plus I like the added arch support). Zappos' return service is beyond compare. I called on the day I received the pair that were too small, and the friendly customer service person had the replacement pair delivered to my porch THE VERY NEXT DAY! I was stunned. Exceptional service like this is unheard of anywhere else. Order these boots; you won't be sorry!
Wonderfully comfortable right out of the box. Not at all as heavy as they might appear, and definitely not a construction type work boot. Can be worn year round, even in Memphis! Shoe is a little wider than "medium" width usually implies, but not so much as to make a significant difference. Great boot!
Time will tell but so far this is the most comfortable pair of footwear of any kind that I've owned. Soft leather pre-broke in bouncing soles, rad!

Something is seriously off with the size. I ended up returning my first pair and getting a size 9, which is barely small enough for my 10.5 (mans) foot. If I could go a half size smaller, I would. They're pretty comfortable now. But this is only after the most uncomfortable break in I've ever experienced. They literally drew blood from multiple places on both feet, and I stubbornly wore extra-thick hiking socks for a few months (not wearing these every day) before they started to get comfortable. They finally feel pretty good. It's not the best fit ever, but I can wear them all day with normal socks at least. Of course, now, after only a few months of light use, the sole on the left foot is split wide open (horizontally). I love the look (aside from the extra chunky soles, one of which is now splitting apart), but honestly I could never recommend these and doubt I'll ever get another pair of Docs again after this experience.
