Definitely waterproof!

I bought this tent for my dog and me to sleep in when we go camping, and it's perfect for just the two of us. It's extraordinarily easy to put up and take down, stores easily and is lightweight in your pack. We got hit by a torrential storm on the second night of the trip but the rainfly did its job and kept the whole set up perfectly dry. Though it is intended to sleep two people, it would probably be difficult to get two people and their gear comfortably inside, plus the door opens on a long side, meaning the person in the back would have difficulty climbing out in the middle of the night. But if you are one person (and a dog) and looking for a little extra room than a one person tent affords, I would definitely recommend this tent.

So Far, So Good

Have not been camping with this tent yet, but did do a setup in the living room. Am so happy with how easy this is to set up. The zippers work well, it's quite roomy, and the height is such that I can enter and exit with a little stooping instead of getting down on my knees. While only a two person tent, I believe it will be taking the place of my four person tent for all camping outings. It is compact enough to fit in the hatch of the kayak with plenty of room for everything else. Four stars for the anticipated love I'm going to have during actual use. Will upgrade to five stars when it actually delivers.

My second one

I am ordering second one. Used te be called Tetragon 5. I gave my first one away to some people that really needed a tent...

I used it for short 1 orr 2 nighters. Very easy to set up..and performed well in a few heavy rain showers. I truly don't think you can beat these for the price. I have only used it as one person tent, but would make ok 2 people tent if you're familiar with each other.

Backpacking Tent

Just used it for 4 night on the AT in Southern VT. Worked out well a good tent for cost. Held up well through one night of heavy thunder storms. No rain in but with the large area of mesh some misting of moisture with the higher winds & heavy rain. Didn't have to abandon the tent & sleep in a shelter, so very happy with the performance.

Good value for the price

Used tent for Philmont Scout Reserve for 12 days. Held up well in 8 days of rain with no leaks. Easy and quick to set up, make sure to practice a few times before you head out on the trail. A bit heavy but great for the price. Did get snags in the tent and bag towards the end of the trip. Overall great value.

Great tent

Used this for myself on a 10 day 71 mile Philmont trek. Was a tad heavy at 5 pds but I liked the room it gave me was worth a few extra pounds for head room.

Easy to set up by myself unless windy.

Did rain a couple of nights tent stayed dry.

Excellent tent

This tent is perfect for one person. I tried it out at a campground where it poured rain for 2 days and I stayed completely dry inside; I found ventilation to be adequate even with rain fly on. It was also very easy to set up; folds up and packs easily, too.

Love this tent!

This is the best tent ever. It's great for backpacking because it is light weight. The rainfly works and the tent stays dry. It's easy to put up. The price was right. Great overall value.

Neutral Reviews:

Close to what is pictured on the box.

The Teragon 2 is only "similar" to what is pictured on the internet images, and even the box it comes in. The photo used is of one of the larger Teragon tents. The main difference aside from proportional differences, is that it does not have a back window as pictured. At best, what the Teragon 2 has is an upper top venting expansion that unzips a bit on the high upper backside. Not having a second window as pictured and being incorrectly noted on the tents specs was lazy of Eureka!, being having a secondary view out is important along with need of cross ventilation is some warmer temperatures. Next is an oddball detail which I'm surprised got into production of this tent, and that's the location of the two inner mess storage pockets that hang out right and against where your head and feet would be in this size tent. It's just goofy. And the way the rain fly fits along with this tent's low side venting, makes me suspect that any rain with a breeze to it will allow internal leaking, but that's a guess. On the plus side I really liked the size proportions of this tent, both in height and footprint. That's in thinking of beyond camping use of a tent, but one that can also be used in internal emergency use in case of a power outage in winter. This tent's footprint will fit on a queen sized mattress and would keep one person 10 to 12 degrees warmer in chilly temperatures. I'd like to see more tent manufactures make tents in this height and footprint size for the expanded use potential for beyond just camping.

OK for the money.

I haven't used it yet. Just set it up in my basement. Looks like a decent lightweight summer tent. I like the fact you can set it up with only 6 stakes. (Possbly none if there's no chance of wind.) Be aware that 2 sides of this tent are completely screen, covered by the fly for rain protection.
Airhead Steve at Campmor on 02/02/2013

Cut-Back on the screening?

The 5 X 7 Tetragon I had previously, had much more screening than this model. What happened to the screening? Still, great tent for desert camping.
