Great buy but...
Purchased this crossbow after much research. Received bow as advertised and assembled, could not get sighted in. Spoke with Excalibur rep, he thought scope was bad. Spoke with US sales rep for Excalibur and he had me send him the bow, after troubleshooting he replaced the scope all 4 bolts and tips. The tips I received were different weights and bow would shoot 10 in high 8 inches left every shot. This guy was amazing to deal with.(Danny Miller) Horizontal Archery in Ohio. No complaints about his customer service. Any issues with your bow get ahold of him. Still waiting to receive it back but he sighted it in and hit thumb tack with 4 arrows
GREAT VALUE
This crossbow is worth every penny! It took me four bolts to sight in and it stays on target. I just finished my second year of hunting with this weapon and have shot multiple deer and turkeys. I have shot it around 200 times on the original string and nothing has vibrated loose. I have not had any problems with the scope as mentioned on previous reviews. The trigger pull takes a little getting used to but is not a problem. Great crossbow Excalibur.

Great crossbow!The DVD shows you step by step all you need to know to get started and use it. The only issue I had was the scope was no good! Excalibur replaced it and I upgraded to the vari-zone for a extra 30 bucks.Overall this is a great little package deal with everything you need but some broadheads for hunting.But the original scopes that come with the SMF package are junk IMO.Glad I bought mine!

Not a complete package
To shoot this crossbow several additional accessories are necessary. First you need the S5 silencing system. To install the S5 silencer you'll more than likely need to remove and tighten the string, I did. So then I needed an Excalibur Crossbow Stringer. Without the S5 my quiver vibrated off, the scope mount came loose, and the quiver mount came loose. I noticed that some Equinox and Matrix models appear to have the S5 System installed as a kit. They should be on all models. During my shooting, from a rest, I find out that it won't shoot 100 gr target tips and broadheads very well, an obvious reason why the kit contains 150 gr target tips. So I felt I had to mail order some 150 gr broadheads because none of the local stores had any. They haven't arrived so I've not yet found out if the 150 gr boltcutters will group near the "kit's" target tips. I can't locate a 150 gr mechanical broadhead. But now that Excalibur is endorsing a 125 gr mechanical broadhead, I may be forced to switch to 125 gr. Maybe they'll include them in their "kit" someday? The 150 gr target tips shoot very well.
