Like all Excalibur crossbows, the North-American-made Axiom provides superior accuracy and reliability, along with plenty of horsepower to tackle any of North America’s largest game. It features a 175-lb. draw weight and a 14-1/2" power stroke, making it extremely easy to cock, yet capable of producing bolt speeds up to 300 fps. The ultralightweight, black-fiber-reinforced main frame is ideal for carrying on a long day afield.

Great Crossbow
Easy to use and bullet proof. Accurate and easy to sight in out of the box. Limited assembly and everything you need minus a sling and the broad heads. Shoulders nicely. Took a doe at 30 yards the first day out with it and went through the shoulder and the pump house and she went 20 or so yards with 150 grain Boltcutters.
Its all about relative experience for me...your holding a bow that's in a rifle stock that's horizontal. It's wider than most crossbows because of design and the trigger is different, lots of pre-travel but breaks nicely. If your used to a nice trigger on a rifle you'll need to just shoot it and understand it's not a rifle...simple. I bought it so my friends who don't bowhunt could hunt with me during archery season, my wife even likes shooting it. I recommend the S5 string suppressors as an upgrade as they will help some with noise but really make a difference when it comes to vibration. Don't get caught up in fps, this set up is every bit as lethal as any other faster crossbow out there. A great solid choice, an injustice to call it "entry level".

My Favorite Hunting Weapon
I have always liked and admired the bow hunter. However as a disabled veteran I can't use a conventional bow. This last summer I bought my Excalibur Axiom after doing some research. I can not express how happy I am with this crossbow and the joy it brought me in the first White Tail season here in Idaho with it. I am completely sold on Excalibur and the advantages of a recurve crossbow over a compound. I am now looking forward to my first Black Bear hunt this spring in North Idaho and yes, my Excalibur is coming along and is my preferred weapon. If my Axiom SMF doesn't make the trip it is only because I bought another Excalibur. My rifles have taken a back seat to my Excalibur and I wouldn't want it any other way. It is such a great weapon my wife can use it with ease and accuracy. THANKS EXCALIBUR!

I dont think there is a better xbow on the market for the money....It was missing the bracket to attatch the quiver when i received it. I called Excalibur and had a new bracket in 3 days. Very easy to assemble and was shooting 1" groups at 40 yards in a matter of minutes. Buy this xbow and be in the woods confident with in an hour of owning.....A MUST BUY!!!1

this bow is as acurate as my shotgun ,killed a nice 9 point just one shot first day.
