Smith Allure Helmet Reviews:

Reviews:

So, I'm not usually the type of girl that goes for the women specific gear, but I have to admit the allure is the best helmet I have ever put on my noggin. I have a very small head and use to rock the Maze, but I always found the small was even too big for me. Now, with the Allure I wear a small and it fits perfect. I find that there is enough airflow that I don't over heat and at the same time the Allure keeps me warm on those extra chilly days or when I'm wearing it while snowmobiling in to ski some super fun line. The light weight feel and extra soft material on the ear flaps and chin straps are also wonderful attributes that add to the comfort and wear ability of the Allure. I definitely wear my helmet much more now that I have found one that fits so well.

I had been one of those skiers not wearing a helmet. Not sure, since I do wear a helmet in every other sport I do. So I decided to finally take to the head. When I am ski touring I do not wear a helmet, but resort skiing, I do now, mainly since putting this thing on my head..it's unbelievably light! Warm and light. Super soft too, which I love! Warmer and lighter than a hat it feels like. And not too warm that come spring..I was not overheating. Size seems true..I got a small and it fits perfect. Smith products I have been a fan of for many years. I continue my Love of Smith with this Allure helmet.

I resisted wearing a helmet for many seasons, mostly because I was unwiling to sacrifice the fashion accessory of winter hats. Being an avid skiier, I found that I was hesitating in more technical terrain. I figured that if I was going to take my sport to the next level, I should suck it up and wear a helmet. I could not be happier with my choice in the Smith Allure Helment. I find it to be very comfortable and lite weight. Even skiing in warmer temperatures, the minimal venting system was sufficient in regulating my temperature. Above all, I love the white color and neat graphics.

I've gone through quite a few helmets. I was looking at the Maze originally, but I was drawn to the Allure because of the fuzzier liner and ear pads. Plus, the Gunmetal color is pretty sweet. It's by far the lightest helmet I've worn. I like the simple elastic deal in the back for snug fit. I use this with the Smith I/O and I/OS goggles. The fit is great. I don't run that hot, so I don't mind the simple venting system.

Kate Atha at Backcountry.com on 12/29/2012

I got this helmet as a gift for my mom. It is a great fuzzy comfy helmet and I am glad I chose this one. We all have the same size melon head in the family and I like that it has a stretchy strap so it fits tight without fuss. Also with melon heads we always run hot so no need for adjustable vents. She loves white ski helmets and owls so it was a win win!!

James Heisler at Backcountry.com on 07/22/2013

I bought the Allure for its light weight and good reviews. When I got it I found no vents except for a few on the back. And the only way you can control ventilation is by removing/adding the fleece lining. Plus it looks bulky. It feels really comfortable and light weighted, but I need something that has a smarter ventilation. Might switch to a Smith Voyage.

Admittedly, this is my first ski helmet - I finally broke down and decided it was time to be responsible and wear a helmet while skiing. This helmet was a great choice - it is super lightweight, has a low profile, and keeps my head nice and warm on those cold winter days. And I love all of the different designs and colors. Definitely recommended.

Bree at Backcountry.com on 12/17/2013

Purchased this helmet on a whim for a spring ski trip...Although I had a chat with a customer service rep re: the adjustability and sizing, I'm thinking I wish I wouldn't have followed their rec and ordered a size down like I had originally planned. I wasn't able to achieve a perfect fit the first time around...However, the features and quality seem on point!

mommasnowbunny at Backcountry.com on 03/28/2013

I bought this for my girlfriend as an xmas gift. She needed a new helmet because her Giro one is ugly and she doesn't wear it. This one is very stylish and she loves the added padding inside.. it is sort of fury/fleece so it keeps her little noggin warm when she needs it to.

Brad Crete at Backcountry.com on 12/28/2012

It's like it's not even there! I cannot get over how light this helmet is! The super soft lining is very comfortable and it keeps you very warm. Runs a bit big and I cannot seem to find the extra pads to make it fit more snug! Great helmet, though!
