I just got this as my first daisy chain and couldn't be happier. Although it is not as lightweight as the dynex version it is still pretty light and i hardly notice the weight difference in my pack. I really like how one end of the chain has a half twist on it that makes it really easy to girth hitch to your harness for cleaning routes without any annoying twists to get in your way. This is a great multipurpose item, you can use it for anything from clipping into anchors to hanging your hammock, it even makes an excellent impromptu dog leash if you through a biner on the end. Definitely a good piece of gear to have around!
Daisy Daisy....your the one for me
I use you to hold my aiders When the pitch won't go free
your myriad loops are are adjustable bliss
You give so many options I want to give you a kiss
On multi-pitch adventures you anchor me in
There's so many places you and I have been
I just girth you on and embrace the stone
Oh Daisy oh Daisy never leave me alone.
and Some times in a pinch when the aid is intense
I use three of you for Back Up Defense
Some like adjustable but your tried and true
WIth you my sweet daisy there nothing I can't do
These are great for aiding and organizing, just note that these are NOT necessarily load bearing. EDIT: The individual loops are, as Duncan said, rated to only 2 kN, while the ends are rated to 22 kN. Just be careful with these; I've seen a lot of people use them as a PAS, which is safe when done right, but 1 in 1000 times can get you in trouble.
Great for aid climbing and self anchor if you know how to use it! If this is your first time buying a personal anchor system then I would consider using something else becuase if you use this one the wrong way, It could result in death.
These are nice daisy chains. They are not all that bulky or heavy and nylon has a little more give than dyneema. I have one of each and I typically go for the dyneema mostly because it takes up less space on my harness.
Not sure what else you need. It's a daisy chain in its simplest form. This won't fail...the only way this daisy will "fail" is by human error...which is also the only way anyone would not feel safe.
Used this in Washington Column in Yosemite and it worked well. This is for aid climbing, you shouldn't use it for anchors, or PAS. If you don't know what you are doing, this can fail.
Never know when you can use one of these. Differently buy one, thats all that need to be said.
is a daisy chain, nothing fancy, but it works and works just like it should
The daisy chain was not intended to be a personal anchor system for cleaning sport anchors. They were intended to be used for aid climbing. It still works for cleaning sport gear but I would instead recommend the PAS from Metolious. The PAS offers more flexibility in length that the daisy doesn't do safely. For easy of cleaning and peace of mind the PAS is more solid.
