Burton Custom X Snowboard - Men's: The Custom X is about as aggressive as a board gets. This is the need-to-have board for the wanna-be-pro. This is a hard charging board, cambered to shred. The confidence is in the tech, which includes a snappy yet stable Squeezebox-powered core, competition-grade base, and NEW 45° Carbon Highlights Hi-Voltage—a fiberglass formula that reduces weight and increases energy.
Times inevitably change, sometimes though, they stay the same. The Burton Custom X Snowboard stays the same year after year. The true feel of a wood core, the snappy suspension of Camber , and the electrified edge-control of Lightning Bolts Hi-Voltage the Burton Custom X snowboard is packed with more power, precision, and pop than any wood core board before it. Piloted by the cream of today's freestyle crop -- Frederik, Kazu, Peetu, Marko, and Charles Reid -- this battle axe is ready to destroy everything from back bowls to super park with agility and grace. The Custom X from Burton is a mind-reading response that meets mind-blowing performance.

As much as times change, some things thankfully stay the same. Like the Burton Custom X Snowboard, for example. It's the longstanding go-to for Burton's team riders who need maximum control on exposed lines and massive jumps, thanks to its stiff flex and powerful cambered shape. Naturally, it gets the best of Burton's tech to bring it up to modern standards, but when you've got a classic like this in your lineup, there's no reason to mess with the formula.
Camber ain't dead, and the Custom X is proof. The full length camber shape translates into locked-in Euro-carves and stomped landings on the biggest jumps on the planet. That edge hold gets a boost from Frostbite edges, which places bumps in the sidecut underneath your feet, to give you even more grip. It has 25mm of stance setback, for plenty of directional stability, but the twin flex ensures solid switch landings and takeoffs.
The ultra-light Dragonfly core keeps the overall weight down to help with technical tricks. The weight is further reduced through Pro-Tip construction in the tip and tail, which knock the swing weight down for faster spins. The Squeezebox profile is thinner underneath the binding for unrestricted board feel and uninterrupted flex, and the Highlights High Voltage carbon stringers radiate out from the binding to give you more response without making the deck unnecessarily stiff. Round it out with a super-fast, wax absorbent WFO sintered base, and you're out of excuses for coming up short on the biggest jumps in your local park.
Features:
• Bend: Camber - An advocate of powerful turns and poppy precision, camber speaks to the core values of board design. Offering a snappy suspension, camber distributes weight evenly over the entire length of the board for smooth, continuous edge control from tip to tail.
• Terrain: Groomers to Backcountry.
• Personality: between `Happy Medium` and `Stiff and Aggressive`
• Width: Standard and Wide.
• Shape: Directional Shape.
• Flex: Twin Flex.
• Core: Dragonfly Core, Multizone EGD
• Base: Sintered WFO
• Fiberglass: 45° Carbon Highlights Hi-Voltage.
• Sidewalls: Stainless Frostbite Edges.
• The Channel - The Channel is snowboarding’s ultimate connection, offering the fastest, easiest way to mount your bindings with the most stance options possible. It’s also compatible with all major binding companies, so why settle for anything less? NEW for 2014, all boards featuring The Channel are backed by a three-year warranty.
• Squeezebox - This patent-pending technology improves pop and performance through the balance of thicker, more powerful core sections with thinner, more flexible sections. Rider energy is transferred outward from beneath the feet, energizing the tip and tail while making the board snappier, more stable, and easier to manipulate.
- A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.
- This Burton-exclusive technology allows us to maximize pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks in the board for you. Whether you choose to ride Springloaded, Rocker, or Camber, rest assured that with Infinite Ride your board will maintain its flex, pop, and feel from the first day forward, season after season.

The Burton Custom X Snowboard is built for riding fast. Its traditional camber gives you grip on your edges, and carbon stringers provide fast response so you can get from edge to edge quicker. The DragonFly Core is super lightweight, giving you that agile feeling. Frostbite edges grab onto hardpack, so you won't slide out when you're looking for a perfect carve. As one of Burton's most aggressive boards, the Custom X requires the speed and durability that only a WFO Sintered Base can provide.

Just purchased my second Custom X after the 2012 model cracked in half right between the bindings after about ten days of riding on the eat coast. Purchased the 13-14 model, it also cracked just forward of the front binding after a very mild hit from a rock under the snow. Also cracked in the nose through the topsheet after some light tree riding early season. These boards cannot take daly abuse although very light they are extremely fragile, for any normal rider trying to hit the whole mountain for years to come this board will not last. Its good as a decoration for squids who will put it on their wall and say they own it. DO NOT BUY. Come on Burton pull your act together.
