I really like them
I've been wearing a pair of EMS pants for many years. They were earlier technology, but abrasion resistant, cargo style and, best of all, with button closure at the ankles. Over the years, various face plants and dog attacks have put small rips in them. When I ripped a couple of buttons off, I decided to see what EMS had to replace them. I found the trailhead pants were comfortable, stylish and, best of all, had a cinch cord at the ankle. I love the pants but am having a little trouble getting the cord lock to hold. I can feel it in there so I'm sure I'm using it incorrectly. I've used them for biking and hiking and they stretch, dry quickly and I can wear them out, casually, after the ride.
Excellent product, great fit
As a casual dresser, these pants are both comfortable and flattering. The original pair I bought is lined; however, the two I bought more recently are unlined, which makes them wearable either in cold (with long johns) or warm weather. Waterproofing makes them perfect for foul weather in all seasons. The modified cargo style (one cargo pocket) combines the advantage of having extra storage room with a dressier look. I also very much like the two zippered hip pockets--useful for holding valuables. All in all, a well-designed and well-made product. Would like to see them offered, though, either lined or unlined, or perhaps, with a zip-out lining.
Great pants
I bought one pair, and went back for two more. These pants are slightly stretchy so they are really comfortable and allow great freedom of movement. They repel liquids so they stay clean and dry quickly. With their thin waistband and stretchy fabric, they are comfortable for backpacking, but look stylish enough in a business meeting. True universal clothing. Great zipped cellphone pocket that can be accessed while seated (even with a seat belt on} or standing.
I'm not too keen on the lighter colors myself and wished they came in a chocolate or rust option.
Almost perfect
I purchased three pairs of these pants for hiking Glacier National Park MT and fly-fishing Missouri, Blackfoot, Bitterroot rivers. They were perfect for wet wading and allowed freedom of movement. The pants were the best I have found for fly fishing and would be perfect for a tropical destination. The only downside I see is the skippered pocket located on the left leg. It is uncomfortable to carry anything in it and, it looks ridiculous. Without it you could get away with wearing it to work before an evening activity.
Instantly loved them
I've only worn them one day out on a cycling adventure but so far they're great. Stretch material was cool and comfortable. No chafing, convenient pockets. Fit is perfect - availability of short inseam length is awesome. I like the drawcord design at the hem. They don't look obviously like nylon pants though we'll see how they hold up after a lot of wear and washings. They definitely make swishing sounds when you walk.
Excellent Quick Dry Pants
These pants are excellent for travel -- light weight, wrinkle free, and plenty of pockets.
I purchase these after using the shorts version all summer, which I was very pleased with.
Awesome Pants
Bought one pair, liked them so much I bought another in a different color, then bought my wife a pair.......and I'm going to buy another pair for myself before too long !!
Durable
These pants held up well on a week long backpacking treck through Yosemite National Park. The zip off leg was great for warm days and cold nights.
Great pants for hiking
Purchased these to have comfortable pants to hike in.
The pants hold up well, and were very good at warding off pricker bushes etc.
Great pants
Like the side pockets and the zippered one is great for a cell phone. Very comfortable enough so I've purchased one of each color.
