Thanks to the new EVA midsole and PU Spine system, the Garmont Men's Flash GTX Hiking Boot offers generous support for tough terrain yet weighs in at just over a pound per boot. The nubuck leather uppers and Gore-Tex membrane unite for complete waterproof protection, and the lugged Vibram sole gives you a secure grip wherever you roam. Plus, the G-fit construction means this boot will take a fraction of the time to properly break in.

Great Boot

I'm on my second pair of Garmont FLASH with hundreds of miles between the two, and they're still going. These boots are just fantastic. They do everything I want them to. On tough climbs they have the tread, wet or dry. They are sturdy for hard hiking, when I roll an ankle or knock a foot into a rock. (With a harder boot you may need to break in a new pair… after about twenty miles mine have felt real good.) The goretex works great when slopping through wet or muddy trails, though don't expect them to stay dry under steady rain. By mile four (in any piece of gear it seems), you're soaked. All I can ask is more people buy this boot, so Garmont keeps making it.

I bought this boot because I needed something for camping and day hikes when I didn't want to wear my La Sportiva approach shoes. The first time I took them out we hiked Mt. Sherman and spent the weekend camping. The boot is definitely water proof as we crossed a couple streams and snow fields. They are also extremely sticky on the rock with the vibram sole. It was my first hike in these and I didn't have one blister and they broke in quick. Pretty much my go to boot now anytime there is snow or water to be dealt with.

I've owned four pairs.

I photograph on weekends. Standing up to 12 hours each day. These are the boots I've worn for the last 4 years. Comfortable and waterproof. One pair leaked but was quickly replaced by Garmont. Other than that, Garmont is the boot for me. I also have three other models from Garmont. There is not break-in period. Put them on and wear them all day. The best boot for my feet.

Sure footed light hiker

This light Hiker has a durable Nubuck suede leather upper and a Gore membrane. It is cut lower in back for Achilles Tendon relief and has super comfortable ankle cushioning. The sizing is a bit roomy with a Medium width. An aggressively lugged Vibram sole sheds mud and makes for sure-footed hiking!
