Kelty Palisade 6 3-Season Camping Tent Reviews:

Reviews:

Big tent, easy set up.

Huge tent but light enough to backpack. I can set the entire tent and fly myself in ten minutes, its amazing. You just need something to push the hoop "pole" against if you are assembling alone. (Like a tree) To keep good ventilation under the fly the inner mesh and fly are very close to aligned. This is great until it is cold and windy and gusts shoot into your space. This can be mitigated by fixing the fly's guy lines straight down.

As everyone will observe the only poor element of this is the stakes. They are usable but even if you are cautious they will bend here and there. Buy some awesome stakes and you are gold.

The poles are top quality. The mesh is very fine and will keep out gnats however they do create some blur which *slightly* detracts from star gazing.

The front fly area outside the tent is big enough for two lawn chairs and relaxing. Very nice attention to detail in this tent. I feel like I lucked out with it and while huge it is not so heavy and can be backpacked.

Something you will really appreciate is the bag it all comes in. It is good quality with good handles and spacious enough that you can just stuff the whole tent, fly, poles, and stakes in without folding or effort and room to spare. That makes life a lot easier.

great tent, great service

Now that we've got kids, we switched to comfort gear for car camping. This tent provides great ventilation, plenty of room, and good rain coverage for the tropical (i.e. hot & rainy) conditions here in Hawaii. Build quality seems good and up to Kelty backpacking gear quality, though we've only used it once.

Only minor issue I noted is that I would prefer a stronger tent pole. The unique halo pole that supports the fly is a little difficult to assemble without damaging the ends of the poles.

Great tent!

The front vestibule is huge! I camp with scouts as well on hunting trips. I need room for a large cot/air mattress and this tent has room to spare! The design lets you use more floor space without fear of touching the walls. The only thing keeping it from a five star rating is the large "ring shaped" pole is a little difficult to erect. I found if you take your time, and press it against a friendly tree you can make the final connection.

HUGE, easy set up/break down

This tent is huge, heavy, and awesome. Good ventilation with the fly on, super easy breakdown. Amazing tent for a comfort-camp family (of 6 easily) and a palatial research tent for a team. Huge, good ventilation and excellent sport points- a plug-in vent, push-out vents for the fly, cup-holders and a gear loft. Fantastic gear storage areas created by the fly, though these areas are unfloored. still accessible via zips from main living area.

Excellent family tent

The halo adds vertical space other dome tents don't have. Vestibule is perfect for our boys who tend to track a lot of stuff into tent. Cup holders in vestibule a bonus for sitting inside and watching the rain. Was easy to set up the first time. One person can do it but 2 people make a big difference when setting the poles.

What a Black Friday Deal

Tent went up easy on Christmas morn. Didn't even have to look at the instructions much, very intuitive. Huge vestibule for its size, even cupholders inside. Included gear loft and back door for dirty shoes. Halo was easy for two person assembly. Given as a Christmas gift to extended family as a good tent to start family camping.

Great Deal!

Our "camping combo" tent ended up in a dumpster after our last trip, and staying dry became our mission. We took it out the first time last weekend and got dumped on the first night. Not A Drop Inside. Made the wife a happy camper.

Great Tent

We are loving this tent, but have one concern with the vestibule. Not sure how it will hold up when the rain comes down...questioning the planning on window/flap placements. So, I guess we'll find out during our first rainstorm. :)

Great Tent

Lots of room, easy to set up. Rained the first use and stayed dry. Front canopy is a nice way to create a barrier between outside dirt/mud/wetness and the sleeping area.

Nice tent

received the tent on Tuesday and used the following weekend primitive camping by boat in northern maine.
Went up without a hitch and was very comfortable.
