Marmot Safire Jacket -

The Marmot Women's Safire Down Jacket shines when the temperatures start to get into that see-your-breath range, and it works well on its own or as a warm layer when nasty winter storms roll in. Whether you're frolicking in the frost-kissed world of snow ghosts and thigh-high powder drifts or weaving between snow-capped skyscrapers, the Safire will keep you warm.

The recycled polyester shell makes it easy for the Safire to be green, and the down insulation prevents you from being blue-lipped and frozen. Box baffle construction stabilizes 700-fill down so you don't get the cold shoulder from your jacket. The feathers are treated with Down Defender, an innovative coating that prevents dampness from being a downer on your party of warmth. When untreated down is exposed to moisture, the feathers fail to insulate. Now, a little spit of rain or moderately forceful flurries won't leave you shivering and wet.

Slim lines highlight your shape without turning you into Ms. Marshmallow of the decade. The trim silhouette makes it easy to slip a weatherproof hardshell over the Safire when forecasters call for white-out conditions and total snowfall above your head. The full-length zipper parks in a zipper garage to protect your chin from cold metal chafing, while the wind flap behind the front zipper keeps out chilly wind drafts. Elastic cuffs make it easy to push your sleeves up when late winter sun warms the world a bit more than you expected.

Very nice!

I luv the coat, it's fall in Alberta so just starting to get cold. I ride my horse in it, then grab groceries, pick up kids from school etc. it's lightweight but warm. Only thing I don't like is that there are no side pockets to put my hands in or anything. The chest pocket works ok for phone and keys.

Went one size down to fit my wife. She loves it. it's isn't super puffy or extra warm, it's a "sweater" - best for running around town - it's a nice form/athletic fit. The blue really pops. good color. great deal. you get more than what you pay for. I recommend.

This is a more lightly insulated down jacket than some others. It doesn't have the huge baffles that you'll see in other down jackets, so it layers nicely and looks good as an outer piece. I got this as a gift for someone and so far they seem to love it.
