My favorite vest, hands down. It packs quite small yet the windstopper fabric makes it incredibly helpful in keeping the core warm in windy places. The material is semi-stretchy, so it flows with the activity.
This is my go-to for chilly climbing days as it provides a great balance of warmth and breathability when I'm getting pumped on a climb most people would have no trouble with.
I must declare that I am a part of the Gore Mountaintechs product testing program. However this item was purchased apart from the program and my knowledge of the technology only makes me appreciate this vest further. It truly is a great piece of equipment.
The one weakness I've found is that the zippers aren't super durable. I blew one out in the first month I owned it, now I have to remember to not close that pocket all the way or terrible things could happen...
I love me some vests. I wear sleeveless coats year round, for me they are incredibly versatile. For a long time I was hooked on fleece jackets, but the pilling always made them unsuitable for meetings/etc. This softshell fits the bill. The WindStopper keeps your core warm, and it handles many, many washings quite well. Great choice if you are looking for a great vest.
