Marmot PreCip Jacket Reviews:

Excellent lightweight waterproof

Bought this for my 5-year old for taking to the Hawaii rainforest where it's warm but rains a lot! It's very lightweight, easily stuffed in a backpack and is truly waterproof. I'd bought cheap pack-a-macs before and they are not properly water-proof in heavy rain. The hood design is very good with a cap-like rim which stops the rain dripping onto your face. The reflectors are a nice touch (although the boy's version has more.) The size is quite generous so you could wear sweaters underneath in cold weather. I'm tempted to buy one my size!

Quality jacket in kid's size

I've been a big fan of the Precip, and decided to get my youngest daughter one in advance of this summer's Boundary Waters trip. Vacations just aren't fun if you're wet.

She's worn this through the spring rains, and it's performed just like mine and her mom's.

I found this to be nearly identical to the adult version, but with the absence of the "pit-zips" ventilation. Kids can get warm, too, so I thought that was a strange omission.

Great, light jacket!

Bought this for my 4 yo daughter. It is the perfect weight for where we live, which is on the coast in Georgia. It is just a rain jacket, which is exactly what we need most of the time here - no hot lining or heavy bulkiness. The material is great. The price is great. She'll be able to use it for school or pretty much anytime it rains. Haven't found any negatives so far.

Well Performing Rain Jacket

My daughter walks to school and most rain jackets I have purchased over the years do not keep her completely dry in heavy rain. So far this jacket has out performed her previous jackets. It is well constructed and came in a variety of colors that were pleasing to her. It is not lined, which works well for warmer temperatures. On cool days, the jacket was roomy enough to wear a fleece underneath.

Great all purpose rain jacket

We bought this jacket for our daughter for our upcoming backpacking trip to Europe. It's a great lightweight jacket that we can layer for colder days, and packs down well, not adding much to her overall pack weight. The colors are classic but also fashionable. We bought the next size up, taking the advice of other buyers and its perfect.

Coming back for another one!

This is the third Marmot Precip Jacket I've purchased for my daughter over the past 4 years. She's a very active girl; this jacket allows for freedom of movement and is excellent for layering sweaters underneath in the winter months. The quality of the jackets are superb. We've been able to pass her outgrown jackets down to younger cousins.

Great jacket at a great price!

Great coat. I ordered 5 for our children. Time will tell how they hold up with boys, but Marmot makes a quality product. The jackets are lightweight, and will cut the wind well, however a base layer will definitely be needed for cold weather.

Love this jacket

This rain jacket is light weight yet warm and definitely keeps you dry. Great for family outings or to keep handy in a school backpack in case of a weather change.

Very cool jacket

This coat is very nice. My 9 year old daughter loves it. It's right up there with other name brand jackets that the kids love these days.

Works like a charm

Kept our daughter dry and warm (with other layers) while hiking the Whites in NH.
