Millet Down Alpine Jacket -

An essential piece of gear on mountaineering expeditions is the puffy insulation layer. The Millet Down Alpine Jacket offers superior warmth in a durable, packable design that can be used as an insulation layer or as an outer layer.

Pertex Quantum Ripstop Ultra Light fabric is one of the most technologically advanced fabrics on the market today; it is an ultra light, durable, windproof, and weather resistant fabric that feels exceptionally soft to the touch. It is used as both the face fabric and the lining on the Alpine Down Jacket, and is treated with a DWR coating, making the fabric almost impervious to weather. 700-fill down has a very high loft, and adjustable cuffs, hem, and hood help to seal out all drafts. Zippered handwarmer pockets are helpful for quick warm ups or storage, and a large internal storage pocket can carry a good deal of cargo. The Millet Down alpine Jacket will keep you comfortable from base camp to summit, and has few peers in the world of mountaineering jackets.

Millet Down Alpine Jacket Review:

Reviews:

The Millet Down Alpine Jacket is my go-to down piece. It is buttery smooth to the touch and is super warm. Millet uses a really high quality down fill here- 700, but also 95% "puff" of down, and only 5% quill. This is the highest quality down ratio on the market. Ever had a down jacket where the feathers are sticking out like little spikes? Yeah, that's likely because that jacket had a low quality down ratio, like 80/20, or 70/30...
So 95/5 700 fill duck down gives you crazy warmth, lightness, and no feathers poking through your jacket. Last thing on the Down Alpine: $279 is a steal for a jacket with that quality of down, and a pertex quantum face fabric.
Don;t just take my word for it though... Check out Millet athlete, Matty Hong, Staying warm with the Down Alpine before sending "Cage Free Assis" V13.
