Mountain Hardwear UltraLamina 15 Sleeping Bag Reviews:

Reviews:

I used the bag for a 7 day backpacking trip in Yellowstone. As well as for trips in the Colorado Rockies. I could'nt have made a better selection. We had frost on more than one occation mid 30s. I never had to consider thermals. You probably would if the temp. dropped much lower than that. I woke up with a cold face pulled the hood closed and fell right back asleep. Love the waist length only zipper. It makes it easier to find and use the zipper all the time. The bag was light and packed very small in the compression sack. I added a dry-sack over it. The bag dried with-in minutes in the sun any time it got wet. I am between 6' and 6'1" 200 lbs. and would get the long next time. This is the bag for the money when synthetic is necessary.

Great bag. In March, on a freakishly warm day I set out atop Mount Rogers (highest peak in Virginia) when conditions drastically changed. That warm day soon became a very cool night (about 25degrees on my handheld thermometer with wind speeds gusting at 75mph). The gusts were so powerful that it rushed under the vestibule and into the tent. Sleeping in only a pair of boxers and a thermarest sleeping pad...I stayed warm all night long. I could feel the wind push against my sleeping bag, but it never penetrated. I simply sinched the hood down and slept comfortable all night. Great bag for those willing to go with synthetic. Definitely worth the price.
