What I wanted

I had purchased pro staff 3. Worked fine but bigger than I wanted while now hunting. It came with pouch for belt and had a neck string to wear for quick view and drop. After using in woods I it was bulky to carry in. I returned it. Bought this new model and tried it sight unseen. Glad I did. Much smaller. I have big hands but able to sneak it in pocket with or without case. While in stand it's small design allows me to have a very light rangefinder with a more desirable eye viewing experience with larger window than the pro staff 3. It works great. However I have tried to range through smaller twigs and low hanging branches. The acualon has trouble reading a thicker tree behind. Little troublesome at times but if able to have clear view unobstructed ground or tree it is easy and quick to range. I'm glad I bought this and will recommend to anyone wanting to carry in gear like stand, bow, backpack etc... Great purchase especially if on sale like I got it for.

A must have...

If you are an archery hunter you should definitely have one of these....there is little room for error when hunting with a bow. I've seen what happens when the yardage is misjudged and an arrow hits too high or too low on a deer. Nikon is my go-to for optics. Also is great for long range rifle shooting

Smaller than thought

Have not used in a hunting situation, due to UPS back-up. But was smaller than I thought they were, which is a good thing. Playing around house with it, seems to be quick and accurate.
