Just what I was looking for.
My wife wanted a cup holder for our canoe. I discovered most were designed for kayaks and were too expensive. Not sure this will fit over the gunwale but for the price it is well worth chance.

Works on camp chairs with rigid arm rest as well as canoe/kayak
Negative Reviews:
Take your kayak and make sure it fits
It did not fit either of our kayaks, which have fiarly common rims. You hook it over the ridge of the kayak but it just pops out from the force of the pastic 'spring'.
