While the M Frame boasts a hybrid lens, Oakley's Flak Jacket is the true hybrid of the big O's offerings. It has feet firmly set in both the sport and lifestyle camps. It looks like it belongs on your face while riding, while hanging out, and for that hybrid of sport and standing around, golf. Oakley has updated the lens technology for Flak Jacket and now offers it with Iridium lenses.
As you can imagine, you have all of Oakley's technology working for you here. The O Matter frame is lightweight, durable, and comfortable. The Unobtanium nose piece and ear socks help make that three-point fit as secure as wearing full-face goggles. High Definition Optics on Plutonite lenses offer great clarity, and the lenses are coated with a hydrophobic and oleophobic solution. These are features on all Oakley's sport glasses; they haven't skimped just because the look is fashionable.
The Oakley Flak Jacket Iridium comes with a Jet Black frame and Black Iridium lenses. Black Iridium is a dark, neutral base lens with a mirror coating. It has 10% light transmission, meaning it is best used on extremely sunny days. It comes with a hard case and a soft bag, the latter for cleaning and stowing the glasses in a pocket. I don't think I have ever spent more than $60.00 for a pair of sunglasses but didn't like the fit and feel of the cheaper pairs. So I splurged and bought a pair of white flak jackets and couldn't be happier.
While exercising they don't bounce around on my face, hurt me ears or squeeze too tight, the tinted lenses are perfectly clear across the field of vision. While I'm happy with the level of tinting I can even change lenses if I choose. Should have bought a pair like this years ago.
My wife tried them on when she went running and I ended up buying her a pair of pink ones a week later so I could get mine back!
The glasses also have held up admirably in the field on two separate backpacking trips.
Would purchase these again in a heartbeat.
Incidentally, my head is on the small side and found glasses hard to fit or look too large. These fit and look perfect on my head and equally good on my friends with average sized heads. Probably look great on alien heads too...
I've had these for a couple of weeks now. I like them a bunch. I have three different styles of Oakley sunglasses cause I race bikes all over. I love them all but, these are my favorite ones out of all of them. I think mainly they not only are a sports type sunglasses but, also they are a "use for anything" type sunglasses. I got two pairs when I bought them so I keep one pair in my car and the other ones in my racing gear. I normally don't wear these when I'm racing mainly cause I have the other two pairs that are just plain better for the job but, when I'm done or hanging out with friends these are the ones that are on my face.
On my second pair since my first pair got stolen. Great for all kinds of activities: running, hiking, skiing, biking, and definitely cool enough to wear around town or to work. I have a small to medium sized face and found that these fit better than the Half Jacket frames. Taking out/cleaning/changing the lenses is extremely easy. When I bought them, the Oakley rep said that the rubber on the nose and temples actually get gripper when they are wet (ie sweat). I don't know if she was giving me a load off nonsense but I will say that the grip is very good. Make sure to only use the cloth bag to wipe the lenses so you don't scratch the lenses.

The hard case for the glasses is quite large and not convenient (because of the size). I feel the glasses would break easily and must be stored in the case, so this factor will limit where and what I use them for.
Overall, I am very happy with them and would recommend them for people who can afford to buy a couple pairs of sunglasses to suit their various activities.
I just got them today and well I like them a BUNCH! I have several other pairs of glasses by Oakley and I've never been let down on any of them. I race bikes and you have to have a good view of what is in front of you at all times. These plus all my other pairs by them have made my job a lot easier to do because everything in front of me seems to pop out because of how sharp everything looks. These or any other pairs of glasses by Oakly will not steer you wrong.
This is actually my second pair of Flaks. The first pair I left at a restaurant and never saw again (go figure). The lenses are awesome, I love how much they reduce glare, and the color they give to everything. The fit is perfect (and I have a fairly big head). Much better than my old Half Jackets. The Flaks don't have the uncomfortable pressure points that some glasses can have. Definitely recommend these!
