There's little about the Oakley Half Jacket that hasn't already been said by its overwhelmingly appreciative wearers, or impressive sales numbers since its release way back in 2002. The new Half Jacket 2.0 XL continues the longstanding traditions of Oakley's first interchangeable dual lens sport performance sunglass, with a slightly updated revision of the half-rimmed classic. The 2.0 redesign takes width and fit cues from its predecessor, while widening out the sculpted earstems and using a more confident set of integrated hinges. In essence, the 2.0 blends the best aspects of the initial Half Jacket, and Oakley's more recent Fast Jacket, but without the Switchlock technology.
Like every Oakley design that leaves their Foothill Ranch factory, the Half Jacket 2.0 XL not only meets, but exceeds the rigorous standards set by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Granted, the worst that most of us will ever see is the occasional tree branch, or fast-flying insect, but Oakley still designs their lenses to withstand impacts as great as these, keeping your eyes protected wherever you ride.
What good would safety standards be without near-perfect clarity? Oakley's patented High Definition Optics (HDO) boasts some of the best clarity in the industry. These optically-correct lenses are constructed from pure Plutonite, Oakley's proprietary polycarbonate that not only blocks all harmful UV-A, UV-B, UV-C, and harmful blue light up to 400nm, but is also the heart of the impact resistance of which Oakley so proud. Each lens is finished with a hydrophobic treatment that repels moisture buildup from water or sweat, and contaminants like fingerprints or smudges from sunscreen.
The Half Jacket 2.0 XL is constructed from a super-lightweight O-Matter polycarbonate frame, and is available in two color options: Polished Black with Black Iridium lenses, or the traffic cone-inspired Blood Orange with Fire Iridium lenses. Oakley's Iridium treated lenses pull double-duty: firstly, they protect the lens itself from scratches that could impact lens clarity, but more importantly, Iridium is Oakley's proprietary anti-glare treatment. Granted, polarization is the ultimate in glare reduction, but an Iridium lens is still designed to reduce glaring white light reflected off the road's surface, thereby lowering your risk for eyestrain. Perfect for when you're deep in the drops, the Half Jacket 2.0 XL features a slightly larger, and more angular lens profile than that of its little brother, so if you have a smaller face or like a more low-profile lens fit, you'll probably prefer the standard Half Jacket 2.0.

Performance, protection and comfort are sculpted into a new dimension of style with an interchangeable lens design that keeps you a step ahead of changing light conditions. The latest evolution of our coveted Half Jacket® sunglass, it wraps your vision in the razor-sharp clarity of High Definition Optics® (HDO®). Wherever your sport takes you, you’ll have the all-day comfort of a lightweight design that can take punishing abuse while serving up premium optical technology.
Our original Half Jacket became essential gear for athletes, and version 2.0 takes the proud heritage to the next level of design. But when it came to protection and comfort, we weren’t about to mess with the best, so we made it with the same lightweight O Matter™ frame material and Unobtainium® components that keep it comfortably in place, even when you’re dripping with sweat. The Three-Point Fit won’t hook your ears like ordinary frames, and it keeps the lenses in precise alignment so they can give your eyes the vision of victory.
When the sun decides to play hide-and-seek, just swap out the lenses with a new set and you’ll be fully armed with performance. With HDO® lenses, Half Jacket 2.0 features XYZ Optics® to keep vision sharp and accurate all the way to the peripheral edge. All lenses are made of pure Plutonite® to filter out all UV, and this premium eyewear meets ANSI Z87.1 standards for optical clarity and impact resistance.
We engineered plenty of optional lenses for Half Jacket 2.0, so you’ll be ready for any environment. Iridium® lens coatings balance light transmission and reduce glare. For the ultimate in glare-cutting performance, go with Oakley HDPolarized lenses. You also can get optics with Transitions® SOLFX® photochromic technology that automatically darkens the lenses in response to sunlight. Half Jacket 2.0 is available with Oakley Authentic Prescription Lenses.

The Oakley Men's Half Jacket 2.0 XL are like a really good pair of sunglasses, made even better. These Oakley sunglasses offer lightweight comfort whenever you wear them, and feature a stress-resistant O Matter frame material to ensure you're comfortable, so you can't even second guess yourself on whether you're comfortable or not. Trying saying comfortable with a British accent. It sounds funny. What's not funny is eye-damage, but with these bad boys on, you won't have to worry about the sun damaging you're eyes thanks to Oakley's Plutonite lens material. So yeah, these Oakley sun-shades are legit. Do you think you can handle these? I think you can. I see a warrior in you. A warrior that's gonna look and feel good in battle.

The Half Jacket 2.0 is a deserving update to the classic, and quite possibly one of Oakley's best sport-performance frames to date. It's not the most complex, nor the flashiest, but when you factor in its excellent fit (subtly larger and wider than the Flak), great styling (just like the Racing Jacket without the Switchlock), and lightweight simplicity, there are few frames I'd rather wear when I'm out and getting after it.
These are great for running and biking, tight fit and lightweight. There's almost no chance of these falling off unless they are knocked off your face..
