Patagonia Mixed Guide Hoody -

Patagonia Women's Mixed Guide Hoody.
A soft-shell jacket that combines Polartec Power Shield stretch-woven fabric in the body with waterproof/breathable H2No Performance Standard 3-layer nylon ripstop shell with a waterproof/breathable barrier fabric panels in key high-exposure areas to offer both the storm protection and breathability you need for long ice and mixed climbs or backcountry skiing. Head-down and moving up through rivers of spindrift as melting ice splatters your shoulders and chest, breathing hard through quick simulclimbing sections – like you, the new Mixed Guide lives for such standard alpinist fare. With weather protection where you need it and breathability everywhere else, the hybrid design maximizes the benefits of our hard- and soft-shell technology. The upper torso hard shell (shoulders and upper arms, lower in front than in back) utilizes our H2No Performance Standard 3-layer 100% nylon ripstop fabric with a waterproof/breathable barrier. The remaining soft-shell areas are made of heavy-duty but highly breathable Polartec Power Shield fabric. This durable stretch-woven blend (57% polyester/36% nylon/7% spandex) uses Hardface Technology that dramatically enhances the Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish’s resistance to wind, water, snow and abrasion. The jacket’s brushed interior gives next-to-skin comfort; the helmet-compatible, 2-way-adjustable hood with laminated visor allows optimal visibility in bad conditions; and gusseted panels let you reach high without raising the body of the jacket. Other detailing: two zippered chest and two zippered hand pockets that sit above the harness line, microfleece lining on the neck and chin and a drawcord hem. Polartec Power Shield stretch-woven fabric is durable, highly breathable and wind-resistant; waterproof/breathable H2No Performance Standard fabric panels in the shoulder, chest, upper arms and hood repel moisture. Brushed interior for next-to-skin comfort. Helmet-compatible, 3-way-adjustable hood with laminated visor provides optimal visibility in bad conditions. Microfleece-lined neck and chin for comfort. Harness- and pack-compatible chest pockets with DWR-treated reverse coil zippers; two handwarmer pockets with reverse coil zippers and storm flaps for storage. Full Reach Gusseted Panels let you reach without raising the body of the jacket. Drawcord hem. H2No Performance Standard hard shell: 3-layer, 4.8-oz 70 denier 100% nylon ripstop with a waterproof/breathable barrier. Soft shell: 9.5-oz Polartec Power Shield brushed, stretch-woven 57% polyester/36% nylon/7% spandex with Hardface Technology. Love this jacket

I absolutely love this jacket - it comes in such a beautiful and vibrant color combination. It's the perfect mix of soft shell and water repellancy, so I feel safe wearing it on my bike commute without bringing a waterproof shell on rain threatening days. I loved the guide hoody and this is a really great update. My guide hoody is black and I bought this one so I wouldn't feel so gloomy wearing it in the spring, but now I don't think I ever want to go back to the black! My only complaint - I like the slim fit but it could be a little shorter. It's extremely long on the torso so I fold it under. I've gotten tons of compliments on this jacket!

Great jacket - but runs small!

I normally wear a small jacket or fleece with patagonia, but I definitely had to size up to a medium with this jacket because it runs small. I'm planning on wearing this jacket for skiing with my down sweater jacket hoody or nanopuff for extra warmth and now that I sized up to a medium both fit underneath, but the jacket is still fitted, but pretty roomy in the shoulders for free shoulder and arm movement. It's mostly more fitted through the waist.

Lightweight & practical

This jacket is awesome, its very light weight and comfortable. The soft shell section makes it easy to move about & the water proof hood and shoulders are perfectly placed. I live in SE Alaska and this is a perfect everyday jacket in the rain and snow.
