Sufix Lead Core Line -
Lead-core line has been around for decades, but it's recently had a resurgence with anglers. The reason? It presents lures in a fashion that can't be duplicated any other way - and it catches fish. The line has a high-density lead core. The lead core is then encapsulated in a durable, polyester fiber sheath for strength and abrasion-resistance. The line changes colors every 10 yards so you can meter how much line you have out. Sufix Lead-Core runs in a ten-color sequence.
Available: 12, 15, 18, 27, 36-lb. test in 100-yard spools.

Sufix Lead Core Line Reviews:

Overall, is working well.

I ended up getting 15lb. line when I had wanted 18lb., but the 18lb. wasn't in stock. With a 30 ft.. 15lb. fluorocarbon leader, this line combo has worked real well, so far, for walleyes. The Sufix line has retained its color and reels on quite well. Does seem to get some strange kinks in it, but haven't experienced the lead breakthrough in the braid that some other brands have had problems with.
Will probably replace this when it's worn out with Sufix 832 lead core braid, but I expect the current line to hold up for some time. Good value for the price.

Quality first

I have used several different brands of lead core line and Suffix is by far the best I have tried. Some of the cheaper brands are not woven as tight and the lead breaks and sticks out of the backing. The Suffix Lead Core line tends not to do this even after a year of use. Worth the extra few dollars over other cheaper brands.

Holds up well and is easy to tie knots with

I have been using the 27lb Test Suffix Lead Core for fishing Salmon/Trout on Lake Michigan and it works great. I've also noticed it's easier to tie (Double Willis Knot) to my 20lb test Mono segments than cheaper Lead Cores. I don't let my lines sit out in the sun, but I have observed only minimal fading of the colors.

Price was right for recommended prodct.

Too early in the year to comment at this point. That said, the Sufix lead core line has a good reputation and I do not expect my experience will differ. Price on this purchase (discount) was a consideration - for a quality product.
